"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." ( AudioFile magazine)

There is something wrong with the audio

It sounds like the pre-emptive to speak gets recorded too. Can't understand it. Wasn't the case with the first book lessons 1 - 5.

You learn to ignore it. Lots of times it sounds like they say "hoizig peter"

It's still irritating though.

Will get lessons 11 - 15 and hopefully it's better.

Great course though.

Don’t waste your money

All of the vocabulary words he uses are superfluous and he puts unbearable enunciation on each one. I feel like an idiot for wasting a credit on the most annoying audio i have ever listened to. Don’t waste your money

Useless book

The course wastes your time learning the names of people you've never heard of that you will never hear of again.

Disappointed

There is no particular order or logic, which is too bad because they are well written and performed on the audiobook.

Absolute crap! I'd give it zero stars, if I could

It was so boring. And as I neared the end of the book I realized: the book never delivered what the title promised. Absolute crap! I'd give it zero stars, if I could

Editing error in this book

There's a clip that says something about Voice ect Peter repeating throughout all the lessons in this book which makes it super hard to learn. I keep accidentally saying it and getting confused. Portugese is hard enough I shouldn't have to filter out these FREQUENT errors. I'm irritated and I want a refund. In lesson 10 there's now a new phrase that's repeating in addition to the Peter one. I breezed through the first book and I'm really struggling with this once and I'm convinced this stupid editing error is to blame. I only have 2 more weeks until my trip and I'm SUPER irritated that I spent this much money for shoddy lessons. I going to try to continue but I might give up if the next book had this error too.

Unusable

Music (crummy, irritating music) plays constantly throughout the lessons. It’s incredibly annoying and intrusive, and makes it difficult to hear the words. I returned the title. I cannot imagine who thought the music would be helpful, or why they would think so.

This is not EUROPEAN PORTUGUESE 🇵🇹

In every sentences they use "Voce" instead of "Tu" as the second-person singular.
In Portugal, people don't use "Voce" like Brazilians do. In Portugal it is highly inappropriate to use "Voce" to speak to someone even informally. Be careful. My language teacher in Lisbon told me that last month.
"Voce" is only used in Brazilian Portuguese and it is not ok to speak that way in Portugal.
Please don't only rely on this material to speak real European Portuguese in Portugual !
Otherwise the material helps to grasp the pronunciation and that's why I'm still learning with it.
