About this listen

Her overprotective single mother raised Jemma Eidson. Now, Jemma is off to college for fun and FREEDOM! Mom isn't happy, though. There are rules: school before fun, no partying, and NO BOYS! The rules don't last long as a new friend brings Jemma to the first party of the year. Jemma is having a great time until she finds herself in a dangerous position. She's terrified until she is rescued by the most gorgeous man she's ever seen. Sebastian Ryder

He is next in line to lead Hellsmoke, the local motorcycle club. He's bad news, and Jemma is warned to stay away. Sebastian, however, can't seem to stay away from Jemma. A case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time finds Jemma in the middle of feuding clubs, and she’s found out shocking family secrets. When everything comes to a head, Jemma must decide between the flesh and blood family she thought she knew and the new people she trusts.

Sneak peek: "There's a party tonight," Mia said. "We're going. I'll pick you up."

"I don't know, Mia. My mom was pretty adamant about no parties."

"Sweetie, your mom isn't here. Come out with us have some fun. Make your place in this school." Her eyes pleaded with me. "The first party of the year will make you around campus."

"Who is this 'us' you speak of?” I asked, wondering who else would be in our group.

"Well, my boyfriend Craig will be around, of course, but he'll come on his bike with the other guys. You and I will take my car."

"Your boyfriend rides a bike?" I asked. I pictured a jock pedaling by on a ten-speed.

Just as I asked that the ground started to rumble, Wisconsin doesn't get earthquakes, I thought. Then I saw them, a large group of guys riding motorcycles in formation. They were loud.

"Who are they?" I asked Mia, studying the group as they approached.

"Hellsmoke," She answered. "Well, their fathers are Hellsmoke. These guys will inherit the group one day," Mia explained.

"That's Craig in the second row, furthest from us." She blew him a kiss.

And he winked at her.

I had glanced in Craig’s direction before my focus went back to the front of the group. Dark hair, strong jawline, dressed all in black with a shirt just tight enough to tell there was a toned body underneath it. I knew I was staring, but I couldn’t help it. He was gorgeous, and I was transfixed like I was being hypnotized by hotness. Then, he pulled his dark shades down his nose, and brooding dark eyes bore into my soul. It felt like my insides were turning to liquid. I tried to look away, but I couldn’t; until another voice, a female voice, broke me out of my trance.

“Don't even." Mia scolded as she saw what was happening.

I looked at her, oblivious to what was going on, "what?"

"Sebastian Ryder is not good news.”
