About this listen

In this heartwarming follow-up to the bestselling novel Postcards From a Stranger, will Cara’s family past ruin her Christmas present, or will she let love in?

After discovering her mother’s secret life, Cara doesn’t have much faith in marriage.

So when the love of her life, Simeon, proposes, she struggles to say "I do." She adores him, but why risk the perfect relationship by signing on a dotted line that could ruin everything? If her parents’ marriage taught her anything, it was that a gold ring doesn’t equal happiness, and she has no desire to follow in their dysfunctional footsteps.

But maybe there’s a bigger picture after all. When a tragic accident brings yet more truths to the surface, Cara is forced to question everything she believes—and fears—about long-term love. And the answers aren’t obvious....

Could Cara rewrite her family’s history and create her own love story?

People need to know there is a book before this one that goes with this one. Excellent books.

I loved the first Postcards book by Imogen Clark but am disappointed with the abrupt conclusion of this one. I am going to trade it in.

Too Short for a Credit

Loved this novel!! The first Postcards was also good; however, I enjoyed the narrator much more in this one. Great sequel to a good book.

Great book

Its just personal preference but for me I could not get into this story and find out what postcards because of the neurotic fearful controlling protagonist. I really tried. But after the year of Covid this mentality is more grating on the ears.
I know you’re going to say she was upset her fiancé was in the hospital but it was before that. And her inner mind doesn’t fit someone who has someone in the hospital. They don’t just speak death. They actually hope because of love. It was just all about her and I just couldn’t listen any longer.
But that’s just personal preference.

Neurotic Protagonist made me stop listening

Enjoyable story to listen to, though short. Love this author’s writing and plan to read more.

Good story

What a wonderful way to finish up this story. I never would have thought she/they would have to go through so much and I’m so glad they stuck it out and fought for each other and not just quit like so many people do today. People don’t want to work hard and go through tuff times they rather run and start over with someone without “Drama” but that’s not real life. Life has struggles. It started from the beginning of time with Adam and Eve. We can get through things if we are determined. And it’s so nice to have good friends. (And a faith in God helps too).

So glad got part 2

It had nothing to do with Christmas, or postcards, and honestly I kept waiting for those 😂. I expected so much more... I guess that's mainly why I didn't like it.

Expected so much more.

As much as I enjoyed Postcards From a Stranger is how much I disliked this book. With its short length I now find myself wondering if this was originally intended to be in the first book, but was edited out as just too much. I hate spoilers, so I won’t be specific. I really wish I’d just stopped at the end of the first book. The narration wasn’t terrible, but I didn’t think it fit the book as well as the first narrator. Perhaps it was because I listened to both too close together, but I don’t think that’s all. Both narrators seemed almost too sugary sweet for the story. I will say both were quite good, but just weren’t a good fit. If it were possible, I’d like to unlisten and just stop at the end of the first.
