Great perspective

As someone who grew up with a sister who dealt and deals with BDD it was amazing to be able to understand from another perspective. Being a family that is close and loving; it was difficult for me to hear and see the trauma and bullying my sister dealt with growing up. I'm thankful for audios such as this that not only brings excellent healing practices but knowledge that widens and helps other perspectives. Great book!

Peaceful, Calming, and Emotional

As someone who has experienced body image issues that arose early in my life, due to comments made by my own family members and family friends, this book really encouraged me to safely deal with these emotional experiences. Body image healing is an important topic that needs to keep being talked about and explored, especially in today's social media age where there is a fine line between fake and real. This book allows listeners and readers to take a moment, find a safe and quiet environment, and then answer the journal prompts provided. The journal prompts allow readers to take a moment and introspect on their lives. I have saved some of the journal prompts in my notes to further discuss with my professional therapist later on. Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone in need of a safe space for healing and recovery from body image issues.

Inspiring!

Listening to this book is like having a helpful friend guide you through a difficult time. The questions in the audiobook were particularly helpful. They make you explain yourself in a way not possible on your own...which, in my opinion, leads to growth! Its healing!

Highly Impactful and Thought-Provoking

Whether you have Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) or merely a poor body image that doesn’t rise to a disorder, this excellent book will prompt you to think and journal constructively. There are 25 numbered prompts, but all of the prompts have multiple questions, which creates the opportunity to take a deep dive into how you think about yourself, your body, and others. Earlier prompts ask you to think back to your childhood to see if you can find the source of your poor body image. The remainder asks you to think about a multitude of topics relating to yourself and others, all of which are thought-provoking and may be highly revealing for positive change. The soothing and supportive narration provides plenty of time for you to write answers to questions, and of course, you can always pause the recording if you need more time.

One particularly impactful question that came up more than once asked if I would treat others the way I treat myself when it comes to negative talk. The flip side of this question is whether I treat myself the way I treat others when I am supporting or comforting them. These sorts of questions can show that you have a different standard for yourself and help you to think more constructively.

While I recommend this book on its own, I believe this book can be even more helpful if you listen to it after the companion book by the same author, which I have previously reviewed: Body Dysmorphia: The Holistic Approach to Take Control of Your Obsessive Negative Thoughts, Stop Comparing, and Learn to Love Your Appearance.

Great tool for Journaling!

One of the biggest issues common amongst all women is body image. This is guided Journaling tool provides a no judgement space to investigate the roots of our body image issues and find peace and acceptance. Highly recommend!

Extremely Effective

As someone who has struggled with eating disorders and body dysmorphia, this audiobook is so helpful for alleviating that constant negative self talk that comes with body dysmorphia. The music that is paired with the meditations is extremely relaxing and helps to put you into the right mindset to change your point of view. I’m definitely looking in the mirror with a more positive light after listening to this audiobook. Highly recommend!

unique and insightful approach to individuals
