About this listen

An in-depth look into the creation of the post-WWII Healing Revival focusing on the historical perspective of William Marrion Branham, who has been credited by some as the evangelist who both initiated and led the movement. Examine the origins of the evangelist, the men who created him, and the men who influenced his doctrine from his early years as a Southern Indiana minister in the river city of Jeffersonville, Indiana, to his career as an internationally recognized faith healer.

From his involvement with the Kardashian family in California to his politically-charged sermons supporting the revival of the Ku Klux Klan, William Branham lived a fascinating and unbelievable history connected to the collaboration, influence, and power of recognized public figures and events in American history. Some of those public figures made the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted List as they entered the Healing Revival, while others became respected ministers of the gospel. Learn how a handful of men with one common goal orchestrated the events leading to some of the darkest moments in American history. These men pursued their goal through a strategy conceived decades before, while they were secretly planning in the shadows of the night. What was their objective? The “Americanization” of the United States.

The research is filled with over a thousand footnotes, resources, and quotes from the transcripts of William Branham, Jim Jones, Roy Davis, Congressman William D. Upshaw, and many others. Over a decade of research packed into one book, Preacher Behind the White Hoods: A Critical Examination of William Branham and His Message walks you through the events of William Branham’s life story. Rather than retelling the many versions of the "life story" used to create his stage persona, this book examines the events in the life of the historical William Branham.

Thank you so much for the exposing the truth. I knew the last few years that something didn't seem right, and so I tried to get away from it. But I always feared I was doing wrong and would burn in hell for it. Thank you for giving me peace of mind and allowing me to live my life. Now I just wish my family would get away (a few have).

Fantastic

I was raised in the message and for the last 8 years have been slowly coming to terms with rooting out the ideology and warped doctrines of William Branham. But in four days I've listen to your book twice. I've ordered the hard copy as well as some of your other material. This book is the nail in the coffin. The facts and evidence you present leave no question in my mind that William Branham was a FRAUD and the message itself is a product of a conspiracy to defraud. Its clear there was consistent, conscious effort to manipulate and decieve others over the course of his entire ministry. This is a sobering book and one that I am extremely grateful for. I cannot thank you enough. I've already shared much of your findings with former message believers still "trying to" break the spell of the message from their minds and I do know it takes a little time. I'm sure they will fully escape as they are looking at the facts. God bless you John. Thank you for providing and invaluable key to unlocking the shackles that have been on so many of us for a lifetime.

THANK YOU!!!!

Very Informative, between your podcasts and this great book not only learned a lot about the history of William Branham, but also the the 20th Century Pentecostal movement. And the Birth of the Word of Faith and the Prosperity Message.
Thanks, and keep up the podcast.

Very Informative

I also was raised in the message. I left at the age 18 with questions mostly about how can wonderful Christian people outside of the message could be more loving and kind then supposed bride. I hate to think of all the good people that were and are still being deceived including some family.

Thank you

Thank you so much for this book. The implications are far reaching in terms of many groups still present in the United States and around the world. I highly recommend the William Branham historical research podcast that John and friends have done. Some jaw dropping revelations..

John’s research has been a Rosetta Stone for many

Thank you so much for putting this together. it was very interesting. A real page turner, or whatever the audiobook equivalent is. I will be listening to this at least one more time, and my brother bought the hard copy, so we can study it, and be informed for discussion with the family members who are still in "The Message"

I am so grateful.

I originally learned of this book through the author’s appearance on Cultish, and was intrigued by my own interest in the psychology behind The People’s Temple. This book exceeded any expectations I may have had. The author leaves the reader hanging on for any number of explorations beyond what was well researched here.

Thanks, Cultish!

I was raised in the Message cult, and thankfully broke away decades ago. However, I recently stumbled upon this book (by way of the Cultish podcast), and listened to it out of pure curiosity. As I listened to the book, I could only shake my head in disbelief at the level of showmanship, prejudice, and blatant deceit that has been peddled to the cult members. The book not only reaffirmed my decision to leave, but has also motivated me to bring more of my family and friends out with me. Thank you, John, for the thorough and comprehensive research. Greetings from Indianapolis & keep up the great work!

Excellent

The author not only grew up deeply immersed in the message cult, he really went all out with his research, leaving no stone unturned in his quest to uncover the truth about the self-proclaimed prophet William Branham.

Incredibly Well-Researched Exposé

Having been in the cult of Hobart Freeman’s Faith Assembly, I never realized the pattern HF copied was straight from Branham. Although I moved away after a relatively short time, the non-denominational churches, (and even denominational) churches were influenced by WB. As Collins writes, he has traced connections throughout the world, unfortunately. I was appalled at the lies WB told, and see how followers disregarded those lies. Cult leaders are always the same- in it for power and money. And they continue to lie to retain control of the people. WB is no exception.

I think the religious part of America needs this book, and maybe to realize they’ve been duped. Thank you Mr.Collins, for all your diligence.

Connections far and wide, with destruction everywhere.
