Publisher's summary

You would think after helping save her boyfriend from an eternity in Hell that things would go back to normal. Well, as normal as life can be when you can see souls and your boyfriend is Death. But for Pagan Moore, things are just getting weirder.

The high school quarterback and reigning heartthrob, Leif Montgomery, is missing. While the town is in a frenzy of worry, Pagan is a nervous wreck for other reasons. Apparently good ‘ol Leif isn’t your average teenage boy. He isn’t even human. According to Death, Leif doesn’t have a soul. The quarterback may have skipped town but he’s still showing up in Pagan’s dreams... uninvited.

Dank has known from the beginning Leif wasn’t human. But he hadn’t worried about a simple soulless creature. Now, he realizes he made a grave mistake. Pagan’s soul has been marked since birth as a restitution, to a spirit so dark not even Death walks near it. Dank knows saving Pagan’s soul won’t be easy but Pagan is his. And he’s already proven he’ll defy Heaven to keep her. If Hell wants a piece of him too, then bring it on.

Editorial reviews

Sultry actress Ashley Litz sizzles with passion and suspense in this hotly anticipated sequel. Predestined reunites listeners with high school heroine Pagan - imbued with the unique ability to see souls - and her dark, dashing boyfriend Dank, aka Death. In the second installment of Existence, Pagan’s former fling, quarterback Leif Montgomery, mysteriously vanishes. Already experiencing disturbing visions from her childhood, Pagan’s angst is further aroused by Dank’s unsettling assertion that Leif has no soul. When her erstwhile ex returns, Pagan must make a heartbreaking decision. Throughout, Litz lusts and lilts with heart-melting heat. Her range and role-playing is as uncanny as the story itself, whether she’s playing small-voiced seven-year-old Pagan, naïve and vulnerable, or booming with lordly masculinity as dark, devilish, and dreamy Dank.

Wow

Great story beautifully written! I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. It kept mms captivated and wanting more. The narrator did a great job trying to bring the characters to life in which I found very entertaining. I don’t know why some people bad mouthed the narrator. Yes the accents are a bit too much but I think they are perfect. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

It keeps getting better!

I love this series. I would have preferred the not so grating voice of the best friend but it doesn't take away from the story in the least.

EXCELLENT!

I really enjoyed this story. It's not too terribly deep or shallow, just enough of everything. Narrator does a good job with clearly different voices for each character. Some comments said she was screechy but I didn't find it so. This book could stand by itself but is a great series. I listened to book 1 also and enjoyed it. I am now going to read book 3.

Overall alright

Like previous reviews the narrator's voice doesn't really fit. But I do love the story itself.

Good story, bad side character voices

The story was great, but the ancillary characters’ voices were irritating. Miranda sounded like a three year old and the parents sounded like eighty year old grandparents. It took away from the good story.

Good story, but struggled with Narrator's voices

I enjoyed the story, but had to cringe once in a while over Miranda and Gee's voices. Reminds me of a Barbie cartoon. Could live without the songs, as well.

Get ready to question the feelings you have

As if I wasn't obsessed with the first book in this series enough, this book has me even more addicted.
** If you haven't read book one, stop, go read it and join me in the obsession that is the Existence series **
Now back to my review. This book really made me question my love for Dank. He didn't do anything wrong really but Abbi Glines had already made me love Pagan's sort of ex boyfriend Leif. I say sort of because they didn't really break up. He just disappeared. Until he comes back but not how Pagan expected. Secrets come out that are shocking and now Pagan's soul is on the line, again. Just when I thought I felt one way this story shocked me and made me question my feelings. I loved it! Yes we still have the teenage romance that we love in this story but this story has much more. There is the value of true love. Not just romantic love but the love a parent has for their child. A parent will do everything they can to save them even if the consequences aren't real clear. I can't wait to continue on in this series. Another great book by Abbi! And again this narrator brought this story to life. I felt like Pagan was confiding in me personally. And I still obsess over her voice for Dank.
