About this listen

Landscape architect Devon Rhodes doesn't know what to think when he overhears a heated conversation in his new next-door neighbor's back yard, but when he decides to intervene, he definitely isn't expecting the encounter to change his life forever.

Forced to retire from his career as a professional ballet dancer far too soon, Sebastian DeVille has moved to the quiet suburbs of San Francisco to figure things out and maybe get away from his poor decisions for a while.

Well, one poor decision.

His very married ex.

An ugly argument with the man leads to an unlikely meeting with his sexy new neighbor and an unexpected Valentine's date that neither Sebastian nor Devon will ever forget. But can one night of pretend romance really lead to a lifetime of love?

Although this is part of my Protectors universe, this short story can be listened to as a stand-alone.

Please note that this story was previously part of a promotional giveaway, so it was intended to be a certain length. Although it is a complete story with an HEA, if you don't care for short stories, Devon and Sebastian's tale may not be for you.

short and sweet

obviously it's a short story but it's cute, sweet, respectful, romantic, has a dog in it, sexy, adorable, and wraps it up nicely in the end. Can't complain. Highly recommend.

loved this

I have been a big fan of Eden Finley and Lucy Lennox for years. I have seen Sloane's books but hadn't ever read her work. I ha e to say that I loved this short book. I will certainly be buying more of her work. this story was fantastic and it is something that I would definitely recommend this book to others.

another great book

I love Sloan Kennedy books. I have read all of them multiple times and have listened to most...I just can't listen to Joel Leslie as a narrator. I have a bad physical reaction to his voice. anyway, this book and narrator are awesome. Can't wait for the next one!

Awesome Novella!

I loved it. It was adorable. I was afraid it was going to be too short for me to develop any feelings about, but that was not the case!

Lovable!

While I love Sloane’s longer storylines, this was a breath of fresh air before jumping back in to the next book. I sure would love to hear about Silver’s story. Any chance of that happening?

Short and sweet

I liked the story, even though short I thought it was well told and all important things were told. Nice to meet Ethan’s brother and get a view of extended family

Short, sweet, good

A nice, short story in the Protectors series. It can listened to as a standalone and still enjoy Devon and Sebastian's story.
As always, Michael Dean makes it an entertaining listen.

One of my faves

This is one of my favorite short novellas by my favorite author. I'm always amazed she's able to pack all of her signature tension and steam into a short story like this. Devin and Sebastion are great characters, perfect for each other, and a pleasure to read about. And Michael Dean knocks it out of the park again with his performance.
