Le jeune garçon en veut terriblement à son grand-père de refuser de raconter son passé. Primo Levi décide de l’aider à exhumer le secret ainsi enfoui. Quarante ans après avoir témoigné de son expérience concentrationnaire, il comprend qu’il n’en a pas encore fini avec le récit de la Shoah. Lui qui fut déporté à Auschwitz à 24 ans, et écrivit le témoignage le plus implacable sur l’horreur concentrationnaire sait que la mémoire doit plus que jamais être entretenue. Il s’y engage corps et âme.
