About this listen

John suddenly returns home after being abducted and spending 6 years on Franesh, another world. Now he's home and he's brought the "Quest System" along with him. This "Quest System" allows those with it to complete quests assigned by the system to earn EXP and even Attribute Points. Sounds cool right? Except, now dungeons are appearing all over the world and only a few people that were summoned to other worlds, and returned from them, have the power to defeat them.

Amid all of these strange, new occurrences, John attempts to reconnect with his former life and his family, but that may prove more difficult than clearing the dungeons for the 17-year-old. He has the strength and abilities to clear these early dungeons alone, but he can't possibly protect the Earth from this new phenomena all by himself. Will the other few around the world with the Quest System be able to manage their dungeons? Could this be the next step of human evolution, or could it be humanity's doom?

My kind of book

Well done Michael Lopez I appreciate your style of writing, the story was well fleshed out for a system-related book I liked the MC and I'm glad you didn't try to give the MC a romantic relationship...thanks keep them coming.

Good story but

Good story overall but the computer generated pronunciation needs to be tweaked. EXP or XP are gamer terms for experience and are pronounced as separate letters as in an acronym. The same sort of thing for ".com" which is said as dot com (com said as if part of the word "common". Also in many places emphasis is placed on the wrong word in the sentence or a word is completely misspoken. I think tweaking the computer voice program would be beneficial overall but in this case it might be cheaper and less time consuming to have a human who is familiar with gaming term replace the computer.

Virtual Voice is lacking

Virtual voice may be a good option for books which can’t get an audio version, but it’s one of the worst options available. There is no character differentiation, it’s effectively monotone - no emotional content, it mispronounces words, etc. the example of word pronunciation that I remember is content (container) vs content (satisfied), getting those wrong is really obvious based on context, but the virtual voice consistently got words wrong.

The story isn’t bad, but a bit Mary Jane. Some work with an editor or a writing mentor could easily push the story to excellent. It’s got great ideas and concepts, but the execution is not as good as it could be. It feels like it was a first book, but the preface(?) indicated there were several other books by the author.

The MC is OP, but that is standard for LITRPG. The issue is that there is no struggle for the MC. It feels like there is nothing that can stop him.
