About this listen
My name is Taylor, and damn but my life changed overnight. One moment I was just a regular girl working two jobs to pay my bills, and next thing you know, I'm uncovering secret metal disks at my boss's house. Now I'm reading minds, dream-walking and being saved from bad guys by Mr. Dark and Brooding.
That would be Ryder Langston, my new next-door neighbor. He's sex on legs but he's also a secret agent from another world-no joke. I believe him now because he dragged me back here "for my protection" after he discovered someone was trying to assassinate me on Earth. It isn't working out so well.
There's a war going on, one that's been fought for generations. Ryder's having trust issues (not that it's stopping us from falling into bed), and it turns out I'm connected here, if you know what I mean. The target on my back finally makes sense, but there's nowhere left to hide....
©2014 Danube Adele (P)2014 Audible, Inc.5,000 years ago a settlement on earth wished they were somewhere else and because of a secret ore under their settlement their wish came true. They found themselves on a planet with two moons, and built a life away from the chaos happening on Earth. Now in present day that once bound clan has separated in a sort of north versus south way....one side having a lot of the secret ore, the other side thinking they are entitled to it. There has been war for centuries both sides taking massive hits, both sides having bred to hate the other, and both sides committing atrocities against their enemies. How does this involve one earth woman who can hear the thoughts of others, and who one alien finds himself infatuated with....well, she is the key that could bring peace to the other planet, and maybe one mans heart.
The world, the story, the characters I REALLY LIKED! I'm willing to get book two when it comes out next month just to see where the author will go with this world. There were many times where the plot just seemed to magically fix itself, which left me feeling kind of short changed, but I still want to know more about this world.
The narrator was NOT good. Couldn't do men's voices, had zero inflection when the men were suppose to be growling, or talking low, or being seductive. The main female she had inflection for, but with the men it just was non existent. There was an alien word that meant beautiful, and the narrator spoke it as the word "Linda"...this was confusing because several times the main lady was called Linda, which hello is a girls name and not HER name. At one point the leading lady asked about the word and the guy explained it and she "tried to pronounce it"....um hello if it was actually pronounced As Linda there would be no reason to TRY to pronounce it, kind of a common word!
Anyway, I would say for this first installment it was worth a credit and a sale but not a buy.
Interesting world, bad narrator

Slowly Ryan has to let his secrets out as Taylor becomes the innocent party caught up in a tangled Alien web and shows her his world where he is actually a Senior Officer from the Planet Te're where there's been vicious battles between two bitter factions. As much as Ryan wants to protect and trust Taylor he has a duty to protect his people too and must think of their safety but the lines becomes blurred the more he sees what a beautiful person Taylor is on the inside as well as on the outside. And Taylor has accidentally got hold of something precious that gives her the power to hear people's thoughts and feel their intentions which is what all the Aliens from Te're can do.... but somehow her abilities are 'maxed'. Which leads her into danger as it's sought after by an evil villain, enables her to dream walk, she can talk on the higher 'God' plain and, if their mental barriers are down, the sexual connection between Ryan and herself is heightened as they share each other's passionate thoughts.
This is a fantastic non-stop action packed Sci-Fi romance where I fell in love with the characters, the complex and complicated storyline and the funny, angst filled and verbal hot/cold sparring that went on between Taylor and Ryan before they finally learnt to trust each other. Which led to plenty of passion filled sex scenes as the sexy Alpha Alien gave in to his heart's desire.... one little Earthling woman who was about to shake his world. But there are the secondary plots of the War and the evil villain so there's kidnapping, murder, twists, suspense, a traitor, lots of drama, some "wow I didn't see that coming" moments and an unresolved ongoing base storyline that should continue in the next book/s. There are also a couple of secondary characters whose relationship is questionable (one is Taylor's best friend and room-mate) and other interesting characters who, I'm sure, will play more major parts.
Worth a credit? Told from Taylor's POV with some often funny inner thoughts, the narrator was ok, there was imaginative world-building imagery, a storyline where I hated to press the pause or stop button and the romance was written at such a nice pace and grew to be a very tender and sweet love story. So, YEAH well worth a credit.... especially for anyone seeking a hunky hot Alien who's loyal, protective, thoughtful aaaaaa nd sexy.
A DREAM LISTEN.... THERE'S NEVER A DULL MOMENT

Worst heroine ever

Sophia's meekness, fear, and insecurity is also not attractive. The internal dialogue is HIGHLY annoying.
back to the book.......
DONE!!
One word...RE-FREAKING-DICULIOUS!!
Sophia was a whiney pants scared of everything and her damn shadow. she was weak, indecisive, insecure, naive, and childlike. Not a good cocktail if you ask me. Yeah I know she had this huge trauma when she was a teen and she never really dealt with it and it effected her adult life but come the fuck on!! I can get on board with her fear of intimacy and relationships but everyone treated her and she acted like she was made of fucking glass. it was really infuriating.
the internal dialogue and internal questions got me really annoyed. The character would make an observation, then mentally voice that observation and then verbally dance around that observation and back to mentally scolding themselves for having the observation.
I'm all for a good dirty talker really i am but you can't tell a chick that you wanna lick her "sweet cunt honey" and in the next breath call your cock a "shaft".
I didn't like all the extra storylines going on. It was like the author threw in the other couples to have sex or sex like situations because Sophia was too fucking scared to get her swerve on herself. While the main couple did have one or two sexy non intercourse scenes they didn't end up boning until the end of the book.
for some reason the characters in this book were very unlikeable to me. wait scratch that. i did like Sylvan. He tried to do what he could to make Sophie's scaredy cat ass happy and make her feel safe and secure. He tried to be honorable and when push came to shove he did hulk out and kick ass and take names. The chicks in this book made me dislike the story enough that i don't really want to listen to the 3rd book. I may just take a break and put the 3rd book on play when i have absolutely nothing good to listen to.

What would have made Quicksilver Dreams better?
This story dragged on and on and on. I was bored. The heroine was so whiny. I get that she had an awful childhood and had abandonment issues but she risen above "the trailer park". Her inner dialogue showed she was insecure, immature and just plain unlikable. What could Danube Adele have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Shorten it a little or not make the heroine better.Would you be willing to try another one of Michelle Rose’s performances?
I had no major issue with the performance. I was more into the story.Any additional comments?
I could not get into this story. The heroine bugged me...had me rolling my eyes in disgust. It started out o.k. and I had high hopes it would get better. But I had to stop with 3 hours remaining. I will not be getting the other 2 books in the series.
Could not finish.
