Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

It's been three long years since Deadbreak. That's what everyone's calling it - the day the dead rose. Every day since then, Jeremiah Reid has had one goal: to make his way back to his daughter. With his four-legged companion, Joe, Jeremiah has to travel a lawless wasteland teeming with zombies, bandits, and worse, like people who put anchovies on pizza (you know who you are). It's a new world out there, and no one is safe. People are weary, cities are in ruin, supplies are scarce, and brains are on the menu.

This is the omnibus edition that contains all stories from volumes 1-3. These tales explore what would really happen if the modern world collapsed, and take full account of the variables as they exist on the ground now, from ethnic and racial tensions to current government policies that seem to be designed to cause a split in the nation in the near future. What is the likeliest scenario for collapse? How would it really go down? How would regular Americans react. What about our diverse communities: racial minorities, immigrants, hipsters, drifters? Great swing from the usual end of the world story! Unexpected! I look forward to more of this kind of thinking w this author.

Good story
Good story, but the AI reading it was difficult to listen to. It's still worth a listen.

The tone of the voice was dry. The voice was not intense enough. The story line was interesting.

This is one I need to think about
Well, the story is pretty good. The reason I got this book is to see how "Virtual Voice" would sound. It was not terrible. The normal voice inflections from a good reader is missing and there were a few mispronounced words but overall, not bad. It is worth a listen.

Ai voice is horrible just horrible
Don't water your time. The Ai voice is terrible and the author just stole ideas from movies. It's so lame.
