The real stories behind the scenery of America’s national parks. For 12 years, Andrea Lankford lived in the biggest, most impressive national parks in the world, working a job she loved. She chaperoned baby sea turtles on their journey to sea. She pursued bad guys on her galloping patrol horse. She jumped into rescue helicopters bound for the heart of the Grand Canyon. She won arguments with bears. She slept with a few too many rattlesnakes. Hell yeah, it was the best job in the world! Fortunately, Andrea survived it.

The “mountain men” were the hunters and trappers who fiercely strode the Rocky Mountains in the early to mid-1800s. They braved the elements in search of the skins of beavers and other wild animals, to sell or barter for goods. The lifestyle of the mountain men could be harsh, existing as they did among animals, and spending most of their days and nights living and camping out in the great unexplored wilds of the Rockies.

My wife and I have a dream of one day traveling across the U.S. and Canada in a van, stopping wherever we want and taking our time to explore. This audiobook made that dream feel even more exciting! It gave us a better idea of what to expect and how to prepare, and now we’re even more motivated to make it happen. We’re not there yet, but this book definitely got us imagining the possibilities.

Good book
I am not into campaing, but my husband is.
As he wants us to go camping this summer, I decided to read about it to know how to prepare and what to expect. I find this book gives a good information to make me prepared. I liked reading the first part about RVs, the history and the different myths!
I also like how the author thinks about the small, but important details, such as how to prevent your items from moving in the kitchen cupboards. I am still hesitant about the campaign experience, but this book definitely helped me to be more at ease.

Always Was Curious About RV Camping
I live in an area where every other vehicle is an RV. To me, it seemed like too much effort for such little reward. Driving a monster vehicle, keeping it maintained, fueling it up, where do you even go? Where do you store your RV when not using it? All kinds of questions. This book helped answer most of those and it's actually quite the lifestyle. As outdoorsy as I am, I can understand why people would enjoy this lifestyle despite all the costs. This book breaks it all down, it's very comprehensive and well written, and if you're into that lifestyle, or even just curious about it like me, I highly recommend picking up this book!

I was nervous about our first RV trip—especially setting up at campsites and handling unexpected issues. This guide walked me through everything, from hookups to troubleshooting common problems. It gave me the confidence to handle things without constantly Googling. I appreciated the budgeting tips too, since I didn’t want our trip to break the bank. By the end of our vacation, I felt like a pro, and my family had a blast. I’d recommend this to any first-timer!

Great advice for a new RV user
I chose this book out of curiosity. I have seen many RVs while traveling in the United States, and my boyfriend and I have been considering getting one. I also researched online, and it seems like a fun takeaway for a trip. This book provided clear, practical advice on the use of an RV. I appreciate the maintenance tips discussed to help save money in the long run. If you’re new to RV life or tired of feeling unprepared, this is the guide you need.
