Good history; should have been read by a Texan

The content was a very honest retelling based on primary sources and first-hand experience of the author. The narration, on the other hand should have been performed by a native Texan as so many of the names that are now well-known city or county names were butchered worse than a bony longhorn steer.

Only for the few

This is an unrelated collection of stories of Indian massacres across Texas, not even organized by region or time.
