Humor, Mystery, A Lesson in Positivity!

Quite an enjoyable story. We are fans of Cool Runnings the movie, so my son thought this story was great fun. The combination of good, clear dialogue and upbeat music, of humor, light drama, and mystery was a delightful combination. The message of finding ways to make "da bad tings good" is one useful message for old and young alike.

It took only a small minute to get used to the Jamaican accent. We are not used to hearing "wicked" used in a positive light, like saying "cool". Overall, it was a hit in our family.

The accent

The accent made it hard for my 3rd grader to keep up. He gave up after awhile.

Cute children's story

Strong cultural dialects were at times difficult but overall the story and narrators were very good. Really more about adults helping children, being honest and finding ways through difficulty than children being active participants but it teaches little ones to follow good examples.

Much Better Children's Books Available

This is an audiobook for very young children. It’s about a group of people who, at the governor’s request, help a group of orphans, who have won a musical competition, get to a carnival where they’ve earned the chance to perform. Several problems arise along the way which the friends work together to resolve.

This audiobook (I listened to the Audible version) seems meant to help very young children learn to work hard to excel and then reap the reward for their hard work. It also demonstrates how friendship and working together helps to overcome problems. I thought it started off very slowly, but it picked up momentum as it went along at times, the narrators were hard to understand, and I think the children it’s aimed at might have some difficulty understanding what’s going on without pictures. I don’t know if this is the audio version of a picture book, but illustrations would definitely aid a child in following what’s happening.

I bought this as an Audible Daily Deal fairly inexpensively because it was highly recommended on some group board. I find I’m not nearly enamoured with it as those who recommended it. I doubt I’d recommend this to anyone as there are many better books for children

Fun story for anyone.

I was turned on to Rastamouse through it's TV show and thought it was pretty cute and just fun. This story follows the Easy Crew on another adventure for those "likkle orphans." Listen and be happy.

Wonderful for the whole family!

An interesting story plot that helps kids think ahead and problem solve when the crew encounters some hiccups along the way. It was also very nice to hear different accents and vocabulary.

My Toddler LOVES this book, so for him... it will rank #1

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

They bring the story to life. I love the music - just like the show. It's so much fun.
