Follow Paul Oakenfold – world-renowned DJ and dance music pioneer – as he tells his incredible story of a phenomenal career at the beating heart of dance.

Paul's journey takes him from a musical baptism in 1980s New York and underground club nights in London to running a seminal dance record label and a legendary trip to Ibiza that introduced him to trance and changed the face of dance music forever.

Fantastic

Oakenfold's autobiography is full of great stories from his time in the industry as well as information about his life and I highly recommend it if you are a fan.

A delightful journey through Oakeys' adventures

I've been a fan for decades and own a crate of his music, but I knew little of his early career development and achievements. Indeed a humble fella with a vase array of accomplishments, Paul's story is entertaining and inspiring. Learning about his early Shenanigans in the club scenes from his twenties reminded me of my escapades, although mine was actually my thirties not even close in scale and influence. What he brought to the electronic music scene was groundbreaking; we owe him a lot, although he also probably contributed unknowingly to a little of my hearing loss. You'll probably love this book if you love Oakey as much as I do. It's an easy read, and if you're like me, you'll accompany it with intermissions to listen to various tracks he references along the journey. Thanks, Paul; you're still my favorite Superstar DJ.

Just alright

I was really looking forward to this one as I've been an Oakey fan since 2001. I prefer biographical audio books to be read by the author but they did a good job casting the reader for this. He sounds a bit like Oakenfold so it works for me. The story though was meh and unfortunately I just couldn't finish this one, even with just 2 hours left. I found the story to be presented in a boastful way, superstar DJ this and that and so and so this and that (lots of name dropping). This is primarily about his accomplishments, which just got to be too much. I wished there were behind the scenes stories, adventures he could speak of as you know he's got good stories. This one is a pass for me, sadly....sorry, Oakey :(
