Publisher's summary
Lyric
We never had a chance, him and me. We were ruined before we began. And now? We were still just as broken, but I needed his help. My feelings for Gabriel Romero would remain locked away because to navigate through the tangled mess of my life, they had to. Besides, some things can’t be fixed, and we were irreparably damaged. I’d made sure of that long ago.
Gabriel
The woman responsible for destroying me had returned, even more devastatingly beautiful than I remembered. However, she wasn’t in Seattle for the reasons I wanted. No. A blind man could see she was scared but lying about something. Now I had to end the monsters of my past, find out what she was hiding, and get Lyric to admit she still loved me. Should be easy, right? Yeah…

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story
Hockey coach Ashley Jaswal doesn't take nonsense from anyone … except her overbearing and superstitious family. They believe she's a good luck charm for her brother Jas, the newest Vancouver Canucks draft pick, forcing Ash to attend all his games as he rises up the NHL ranks, sacrificing her personal life (not that she has one—who decided hockey season needed to be 10 months long anyway?). Ash also clashes with Jas’s teammate, Canucks captain Devin Snyder.

Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Amazing!!!
I love this series, but this book is my absolute favorite to date. So many twists, and some I wasn't expecting. Soul- deep love, lies, secrets, heartache, heated passion, devotion, danger, and action. When Gabe said he would raze the world for Lyric, he wasn't kidding.
From the very beginning, Gabe was just one of those Delta Security characters that made you want to know more, and his book didn't disappoint as his story unfolded, and his darker side was revealed and just how he came by his call name, Reaper. And the questions left from Lyric's book were answered. But most importantly, Gabe and Lyric finally got their HEA. ❤️
The narrators brought their A game, bringing so many emotions into their performance, it couldn't have been any better.
Now, the waiting for book 2.5 begins. But I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Reaper & Lyric!
Give me a DL Lane book any day and I am a happy camper! I have been waiting to hear what happens with Lyric and Reaper, and boy is it a great story! I met these two in the prequel, "Lyric" and I knew there just had to be more. Now years later, Lyric is back and looking for help from Reaper. He can't get over seeing her, and has no problem helping her, except she isn't completely truthful. Feelings are strong, but secrets are poison. Will these two find their way back to each other? Family betrayals, danger, the Delta Security family, and an unbreakable love make this action packed story one that I could not put down. And now I can't wait for the next in the series.
Making this story even better is the narration team of Eric Bryan Moore and MK Blackwood. These two talents work so well together, it's easy to get lost in the story. Moore is Reaper, the dark, dangerous man and tender loving teddy bear. Using his array of accents, he pulls out different characters and makes the story fly by. MK Blackwood is perfect as Lyric. Determined, scared, broken and in love, she pulls out all the stops and gives this girl an amazing personality. I loved their performance and recommend everyone to listen.

Outstanding Story, Characters & Narration🎧
D.L. Lane created something very special when she created her “Delta Security” series and I love, love, loved the books that came before this, starting with Cowboy and Tinsley’s story, the prequel and first book, and then “Lyric”, book 1.5, which is the start of Lyric and Gabriel’s story. “Reaper” is a continuation of their story and was ecstatic to hear the wait was over for it and to have it in my ears. Worth the wait? Heck yeah! Reaper aka Gabriel quickly became one of my favorite characters in this series after meeting him in the first book and in my eyes he has proven himself over and over, heck all the guys in Delta Security have. Gabriel lost the one thing that mattered to him in life, Lyric, and in this book she returns and we find out what happened to her, why, and how she disappeared. Wow, this book just blew me away, and once I started I could not stop because I needed to know what happened next. It is an action-packed and multilayered story with non-stop drama, twists and turns galore, some angst, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and a wonderful, meant to be romance. The writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. D.L. Lane, thank you for another amazing story and the wild emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 M.K. Blackwood and Eric Bryan Moore deliver another outstanding performance, bringing the characters to life, giving them their voices and humanizing them with their personalty. Their character voices have been consistent and I love how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. They continue to nail it as the two lead characters, Moore as Gabriel and Blackwood as Lyric, both showcasing all sides of their personality, and they are just as fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, capture all the characters’ emotions and have you feeling them all. These voice artists are entertaining storytellers and their performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Emotional Book
This was an action-packed, fast-paced, and gripping emotional story. The storyline was fantastic. Gabriel and Lyric missed out on so much. The brillant talents of M.K. Blackwood and Eric Bryan Moore showed the emotions in their voices in the pivotal scenes. I highly recommend this book!
