About this listen

Hurt is one of the main negative emotions that all of us experience in life. Although not a good feeling , it is not bad in itself and is a natural experience in certain circumstances. It only becomes a problem when we hold onto past hurt for too long and in such a way that it stops us from moving on in life.

This hypnotherapy recording is designed to help you to release unnecessary or past hurt, so you can feel confident and strong in yourself now. When you use this hypnosis recording successfully it doesn't mean that you won't feel hurt ever again, but it does mean that you will be able to put things in perspective and if you are hurt in the future you will be able to react in proportion to that situation, rather than it being like "the straw that broke the camels back", resulting in an over the top experience of hurt.

In addition to this recording being written and delivered by Darren Marks one of the UKs leading hypnotherapists and NLP practitioners, it also utilizes dual delivery hypnotherapy (DDH) and brainwave entrainment. DDH involves different suggestions or metaphors being delivered separately yet simultaneously through the right and left headphones. The effect is deeply hypnotic and has the advantage of helping the unconscious mind to accept beneficial suggestions with less conscious interference.

Brainwave entrainment refers to the brain's electrical response to rhythmic stimulation. When the brain is stimulated through one of our physical senses it emits electrical charges which are converted by the brain into what we see, hear and feel.

When the brain is exposed to rhythm, the rhythm is recreated in the brain in the form of these electrical impulses. If the rhythm is the right speed it can begin to mimic natural brainwave patterns. When this occurs, the brain reacts by synchronizing to the same rhythm. This phenomenon is called the Frequency Following Response (or FFR). FFR is used here to assist people to rapidly access deep meditat...

Editorial reviews

Darren Marks is a noted British hypnotherapist and self-described "master practitioner of NLP" a.k.a. neuro-linguistic programming.

In Release Hurt, Marks utilizes several of his relaxation and hypnosis techniques, set to peaceful sounds, in attempt to reprogram your mind and allow yourself to release lingering, and perhaps unnecessarily strong, feelings of hurt from the past. And moving forward, Marks hopes that we may find it easier to react in proportion to, or even brush off, future hurtful experiences.

Finally something that eases the pain away!

I am so impressed with Darren Marks' work. I tried this audio and after listening to it 4 or 5 times, the pain and sadness that have been burdening me for years has vanished! I remember the events but am not crushed by the pain. Thank you Darren! I've tried three of your downloads and they are WONDERFUL!

Fantastic

I have used a number of Darrens recordings and have found them all to be fantastic tools for cleansing the mind and spirit. The link between early and more recent experiences of hurt, anger etc is the emotion itself, not the story, as Darren clearly and gently explains. I found I needed to listen a few times to get the maximum benefit and know I now have powerful techniques to hand if ever I need them in the future. Thankyou Darren

Useless

Most of this recording, after the relaxation exercise, has you examining your earliest hurt from before age 7. This incident, to me, seemed irrelevant and completely unrelated to the more recent (but past) hurt that I purchased this to deal with. During this phase, Marks is constantly talking, never giving you time to act on the suggestions he gives you (and most of his suggestions did not apply to my early childhood hurt). Then, he has you zip through time, supposedly releasing ALL past hurts before you arrive at the present time - and not returning until you have! Finally, he addresses any more recent hurt that you may be trying to deal with, spending less than a minute on it, before shooting you into the future to spend another minute on that! Then he's counting you out of the trance. I found this recording irritating, useless and lacking in compassion or understanding.
