Reprisal (Frank Morgan)

This is the second adventure in the life of Frank Morgan. Frank's enemies kidnap Conrad trying to get Frank where they want him so they can kill him. Frank's not easy to kill. There is a lot of gunfighting in this book. Conrad is so spoiled. I can't stand him right now. Later he turns into Kid Morgan and becomes a good responsible nice guy and a hero. This is a movie in your mind style of book(Dramatized) with several narrator's. They do a good job. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.

What a Dad will do for a son

Good book. I was getting weary of Conrad's bratty attitude. I nice to see Frank has the same friendliness with the mountain men as Smoke Jensen.

Frank Morgan can retire

The Last Gunfighter; Reparisal,by William W, Johnston. Narrated by Ken Jackson and a full cast. Graphic Audio, a Movie in your mind. Book 2.

On day Frank drifted into town again, and was not only surprised to see Vivian, his Wife, Her Father never did care for him and dam well didn’t want Frank around her. He didn’t know they had married and ran him off. Not wanting to cause trouble, Frank had left years before. Her Father had died and left her his large ranch and a silver mine he had discovered. Frank learned she owned one of the largest mining strikes in the West. Now Frank was not down on his luck, for he was well off. He began to court her and the town knew it, so they eventually ceased to try and hide it. Her Son,Conrad, formed a dislike for Frank. He had all his Mothers attention and now this man had begun to take that away from him. This did not set well with Conrad.

There arose a bloody battle in the town and Vivian, Frank’s Wife was hit bad and later died. Frank swore he would track down the two gangs whom had joined together take revenge for his Wife. His Son, not knowing the background as to why he never knew his Father, did not want to believe it when his Mother told him the truth on her deathbed, that Frank Morgan was his Father. His son would not listen to reason even when Frank tried to explain later, so he had no reason to hang around. Since Vivian was gone and Conrad wanted nothing to do with him, Frank once again rode out, in search of the two gangs, Not knowing if he would ever come across them again, Frank never gave up and spent years searching in vain.

Now he learned they had kidnapped Conrad his Son and he set out to rescue him. A hard snowfall had come that night, but that made no difference to Frank. He was determined to rescue his Son and bring him back, He also would get revenge for Vivian by, killing every member that participated in the massacre and took the life of his Wife.

William W. Johnstone came through again with an exciting story of how the Old West was. The Narrator, Ken Jackson did an excellent job along with the full cast, it truly was like just leaning back in my easy chair and listing to a movie with no visual available. I consider this mature material and not for the young due to the violence. On to book three for me.

I do not enjoy the Dramatic format

Dramatic Performance books are my least favorite. They are purchased when 1) they are the only format option available for 2) titles that are of great interest.
Performances by the likes of Dick Hill, RC Bray and G Guidell (sp), in my opinion, Superior.
