About this listen

The modern gods are gone; they have been removed from power by the old gods. The old gods are back: Greek, Egyptian, Norse, Roman, Hindu, Aztec, Celtic, Japanese, Chinese, Babylonian, and many others.

The first thing they do is kill off over 1 billion people who have been judged as Evil. They also eliminate the weapons of all of the militaries, all nuclear power fuel, and waste.

Gordon Anderson was a clerk at a 7-11, and he was (as usual) late for work. That is suddenly the least of his problems.

The world is changing; everything is in turmoil. However, the most disturbing fact may be that his phone now has some new contacts listed in his address book.

The gods of old, the ones that have just judged and executed a billion people and are literally shifting continents like chess pieces. They now have him on speed dial…

This is an enjoyable read. The rules of the world are consistent and the main characters are decent people. We are planning our honeymoon at the end of October and we plan to listen to this one while driving.

I am a Neo-Pagan and found the treatment of the Old Gods well thought out.

A little gem

As far as the story goes I'm in love with it. I absolutely eat up anything with Egyptian gods in it, & this has them & more. It's a fun "coming of age," "reap what you sow" style book. the virtual voice isn't horrendous (it get wonky in a few spots) but it does get a few words wrong, & stumbles through dialogue, but I've heard worse from actual narrators.

a few hiccups

This is the 4 book I have listened to that used virtual voice. The other books have had minor and few errors in the narrations.
This book however has numerous errors.
The authors should have someone listen to the narration prior to release.
Over all a good listen, but the errors are distracting.

Good story, not so good narration.

The ai narratoring is jarring sometimes but it's better than most text to speech voices I've heard.
The story is good, although the wording is weird sometimes. easy to follow mostly and nice ending

Ai voice but good story

The story was fun, but a lot was lost on the virtual voice. Can’t state enough how annoying the voice was without the human influences. Virtual voice should not be used to tell a story.

I really hope the author writes more to this story. I love it. It is absolutely a beautiful storyline, especially since I am a follower of Celtic belief system. I really really appreciate if it did have a human instead of virtual voice simply because the virtual voice does not always say the words correctly or line doesn’t translate to a computer I think but the storyline is really good and I enjoyed it thoroughly and I’m looking forward to more.

Need the narrator of human

Written like a true civilian. While the story is mildly comedic, the faux pas regarding the military grind on my nerves. Furthermore, officers and enlisted are not allowed to date. Grrr!

I hope something like this never happens. The author is correct in saying that there is corruption in the government, but we don't need to overhaul our spiritual beliefs because of it. Whoops, I'd better be careful, or I will get salted!

Marines are not soldiers, they are marines.

Entertaining and really imaginative. Glad I wasn’t in public because I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. You’ve got to check this out.

That is some trippy stuff!

I have listened to several books with "virtual voice". This one is the worst I have ever heard, very flat, and inflection on the wrong words. Before I looked at the authors profile, I was under the impression that it was written by a WOKE teenager in middle school.

Really bad "virtual voice"
