About this listen

The thrilling, 20-years-in-the-making conclusion to the New York Times best-selling Queen’s Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner.

This beloved and award-winning series began with the acclaimed novel The Thief. It and four more standalone volumes bring to life a world of epics, myths, and legends, and feature one of the most charismatic and incorrigible characters of fiction, Eugenides the thief. Now more powerful and cunning than ever before, Eugenides must navigate a perilous future in this sweeping conclusion. Perfect for fans of Leigh Bardugo, Marie Lu, Patrick Rothfuss, and Sarah J. Maas.

Neither accepted nor beloved, Eugenides is the uneasy linchpin of a truce on the Lesser Peninsula, where he has risen to be high king of Attolia, Eddis, and Sounis. As the treacherous Baron Erondites schemes anew and a prophecy appears to foretell the death of the king, the ruthless Mede empire prepares to strike.

The New York Times best-selling Queen’s Thief novels are rich with political machinations, divine intervention, dangerous journeys, battles lost and won, power, passion, and deception.

Another fantastic addition to the series.

I could not let the book pause. Gripping, enchanting and fast paced. It's amazing how the threads that were woven across the series have set this story in motion. Our leading characters, especially Gen, has developed and matured greatly. Every small character was important in their own way. I loved and Pheris' and his perspective.
The narrator did great job voicing the many many voices across the book.

Six stars - worth breaking the rating system for

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series since discovering The Thief in my elementary school library, and this ending is as fitting as every word I have read of Megan Whalen Turner. I am astounded at how she makes so many characters so relatable in such different ways, but Ferric lives up to his brief intro in Thick As Thieves and I loved the return of all the other characters, fittingly despicable and sad as Nehusareh and Ion Nomenus ended up. It’s such a bittersweet feeling having run through this end to the series, but I look forward to many more read-throughs of my favorite series.

The ending we deserved

This book was the cherry on top of the series. I’m happy we got to see more of the boy Eugenedies and that there were more twists!

Most excellent!

I love this entire series and while this wasn't my favorite in the series, I non the less enjoyed it greatly. The way the author ties it up at the end was brilliant. Steve West is one of my favorite narrators and listening to it was a fun, engaging experience!

Compilation of MWT short stories

So many little back stories of minor characters, and resolution to briefly mentioned details. Closure.

One of the best in the series

I love this series. I hoped for a long time that there would be another book and this one was worth the wait. I listened to some chapters twice. It is that good. The reader is amazing. He really enhances the whole experience. The characters are wonderful, the plot exciting and dramatic, the magic adds spice, and the whole thing works its spell to perfection. I hope that there will be more in this series from the pen of Ms. Turner!
