About this listen

When Captain Ryker Vaughn signed up for ordnance patrol, he knew that scavenging for improvised explosive devices carried risk.

After unexpected and inexplicable dangers, he becomes the sole survivor of his team—and a double amputee. Cinching tourniquets on his traumatically amputated legs, he fends off enemies before losing consciousness.

After waking up post-surgery, Ryker finds prosthetic metal posts protruding through the skin of his residual limbs. The posts connect to state-of-the-art bionics called Ozzies, which could change his life by restoring his ability to walk, stronger and faster than ever.

Yet despite receiving this life-altering technology, he vows to never walk again, believing that being mobile would dishonor his now deceased team.

But when an unparalleled force enters Earth’s atmosphere, threatens to extract the planet’s most valuable resource, and abducts his little brother, Ryker must make a decision: stay under the covers, or use his innovative bionics and return to duty.

Great Read!

Awesome book! I was very excited for this to come out and it did not disappoint. Dustin Williams has written a fast paced action story anyone will enjoy! Great setup with the integration of veterans and the Ozzies. Great descriptions through the action scenes where I can picture in my mind what is happening. Great story! I loved it! Finished it in three days! Excellent effort from this new and upcoming author! Narration by the author was also excellent, sounds like he’s a veteran narrator. I recommend this to all!

Entertaining read

This was a fast paced and entertaining read. Very creative and clean. This is a story I would be comfortable having my teens read, no language and nothing inappropriate!

Too much happens to be in place

I could only make it about 6 hours into it and just couldn't finish. The author was the narrator and just too weak for the character.
The story in itself has some good potential, but nothing of substance. Everything was already in place to benefit the protagonist without any reason for it to be there. He lost his legs and was fitted with highly advanced prosthetics, but why him and where did they come from? Just happened to be from the gov. Similarly, the protagonist's mother happened to have built a B&B that also was an undercover top secret governmental facility. But why, what did she or her late husband do to warrant that? Another example, he talks to a beautiful woman associated with his hospital, and of course she is not only his transportation, but his nurse, and of course within a day they are both in love.

No opposition.
