About this listen

Alison arrives at the beach house in June to spend a month with her restless grandson before he leaves for his freshman year in college. Over a decade before, Alison lost her beloved husband, and has faced life alone ever since. Now she discovers a new life, and possible new love. August brings together four college friends facing a milestone. Across summer's final days, they share laughter, tears, and love - revealing long-held secrets and creating new and even more powerful bonds. World-class wildlife photographer, Matthew, and award-winning war photographer, Lindsey, arrive at the beach house in January, each harboring the very real fear that it will mark the end of their decade-long love affair. Alone in the house's warm peace, they will be forced to truly look at who they are and what they want, discovering surprising truths that will change their lives forever.

The narrator...

And general she does a good job with her portrayal of the characters but she mispronounces many words and in this particular book she pronounced the word for riding horses with precision ion as dress -age and it drove me a bit crazy. I asked my friends who are horse people about it and they said it would have caused them to stop reading the book. Who edited the book and didn’t catch the mispronunciation?

Good beach read.

No serious content, but a nice no brain needed beach read. I wish the narrator would not “laugh” when the characters laughed. Every time it made me cringe. Other than that, the book was fine.

I knew the 3rd book would be great!!!

What did you love best about Return to the Beach House?

It brought back original characters, Maggie and Joe and the story flowed with another great beach story! It's like being with all these characters!

What did you like best about this story?

The characters; feeling a part of all of them and the wonderful beach where it began with Maggie and Joe. The characters were alive and vibrant in their parts and in solving problems.

What about Joell A. Jacob’s performance did you like?

The speaking parts were good but the laugh all seemed very much the same.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked Alison and her grandson Christopher along with Grace; I enjoyed their storyline and the excitement of Grace and her enthusiasm for everything in life. I also liked Lindsey and Matthew though their storyline was heavier and more serious the beach helped put things in prospective.

Any additional comments?

I am excited the Georgia Bockoven's books are in audio. I have loved this series and await many more!!
