About this listen

Many people today are praying for revival. One of the great temptations when reading scripture is to sanitize it, idealize it, and make it more into a human concept of perfection or utopia than what is really being communicated. The reality is, that whenever you put together a bunch of total strangers, with different cultural expressions, worldviews, and even different primary languages, there will be some misunderstandings, several unintentional offenses, many strong differences of opinion, and even some outright hostility.
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is not a pristine, idealistic experience, and the first generation of believers was no exception.
The Book of Acts and most of the Epistles in the New Testament are written because believers had relational issues, theological issues, behavioral issues, and more. God was moving among them despite their humanity, and He prevailed. Revival is messy, but it is worth it! May God again prevail in our generation.
