About this listen

A standalone, enemies-to-lovers, racing romance from bestselling author, Dr. Rebecca Sharp...

No tits in the pits! You can grab my pole, Kacey! If Kacey Snyder was a lady, she’d be at home!

I’d heard it all before—all the ways I didn’t belong—and it never stopped me. Until a well-deserved punch to a fellow driver banned me from NASCAR for the season. Now, my only chance to drive is at the Indianapolis 500—the most prestigious race in the country. And I’m the only woman competing.

Unfortunately, my contract didn’t mention the suffocating publicity nor the abrasive mechanic building the car.

Garret Gallagher guards many secrets behind his callous attitude—how much he dislikes me isn’t one of them. That’s fine with me. I can’t stand him either. Especially the way his brogue makes me melt over words that chill me to the bone.

In my world, nothing matters except power and speed and proving myself. Until him. Until us. As obstacles unfold and secrets unravel, suddenly I’m fighting for more than the finish line.

They say revolutions begin with a single spark. One driver on the track. One desire that can’t be stopped. But in a revolution driven by love, what if he was the only prize worth winning?

*Note: Revolution was previously published under the same title as part of K. Bromberg's Driven world in August 2020. This version contains a brand-new extended epilogue."

Narrator

Did not like the narrator’s delivery. Her male voices were quite unpleasant and made it hard to get in to the story. Sorry— I usually enjoy all her books.

Enemies to Lovers/Grumpy Tortured Hero/Sports

Garrett and Kacey... what to say about these two characters? They were honestly perfect for each other, that's for sure. Both strong characters with some complicated back stories. Both of them have been perceived one way by society and the racing world, making it a little harder for them to make it in racing, though from different areas of the sport. Both of them able to change the way everyone looks at them, but choosing not to for their own reasons. They definitely understand each other, even if they didn't want to at the start of this book.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It did feel a little long and maybe a little repetitive at times (with Garrett and his back and forth with Kacey), but not to the point that it made me upset that the story was still going. Everything included in the story was definitely important and gave you a clear picture of who the characters were, but I'm not 100% sure if every scene was completely necessary to get that point across. I did love both of the characters though. Kacey was the definition of a strong female lead, one I was rooting for from the start of the book. And Garret was the definition of a tortured grumpy hero, an absolute favorite of mine. Again, I enjoyed this book and will 100% be reading more from this author.
