Dietmar Gumprecht hat ein Buch geschrieben, das den Lesenden den Stoizismus sehr gut näher bringt. Es werden die Hauptakteure biografisch beschrieben. Anschliessend erklärt er die drei Disziplinen Begehren, Handlung und Zustimmung. Ohne zu viel vorwegzunehmen darf ich sagen, dass die Konzepte der Dichotomie der Kontrolle sowie die des stoischen Bogenschützen sehr viel Kraft haben und im täglichen Leben umgesetzt werden können. Ich war ursprünglich auf der Suche nach einem Buch über Resilienz. Nach der Lektüre habe ich meinen Fokus geändert. Wer Lebensglück (eudaimonia) anstrebt, der bekommt Resilienz als erfreuliche Nebenwirkung. Kurz gesagt: ein Buch, das bei mir Aha-Erlebnisse gebracht hat.

Es zeigt, dass diese Philosophie vielmehr als Antike ist, sondern gerade in der heutigen Zeit eine unfassbare Relevanz aufweist. Ein großartiges Buch zum Thema Resilienz Ein kurzweiliges Lesevergnügen von vorne bis hinten. Das Buch inspiriert, gibt wertvolle Impulse und vermittelt die stoische Philosophie als Basis für nachhaltige Resilienz. Die Stoa wird hier nicht neoliberal verkürzt dargestellt, sondern in der ganzen (humanistischen) Tiefe. So kann die Stoa nicht nur als Optimierungs-Werkzeug genutzt werden, sondern auch als fruchtbarer und lebendiger Boden für unser Leben. Dietmar Gumprecht ist hier ein ganz besonderes Buch gelungen und ich kann es jedem empfehlen, der eine Art von Resilienz entwickeln will, die auf einem soliden philosophischen Fundament steht, daher sehr nachhaltig ist und nebenbei noch das Potential hat, das Leben eines Menschen ganzheitlich zu verbessern.
