About this listen

Things did not go as planned.

In retrospect, seventeen-year-old Samara Yancy should not have taken the shortcut on her final exam. Expulsion from The Guardian Academy forces her to look beyond the protections of The Rock for work and to clear her trashed reputation.

Working for Mages pays well, but Sam’s connection to them makes her the prime suspect in a terrorist attack. To salvage any chance of getting her dream job, she’ll need to prove her innocence and discover who set her up. A feat made harder as the super-hot Mage, who’s kinda her boss, is so distracting.

The truth lay hidden beneath a growing mound of lies and manipulation. All her digging unearths a family secret she never wanted to know. As well as discovering a powerful enemy who wants her dead.

Sam is stuck between a Rock and a hard place, with no one to blame but herself.

Book one of the Rock, Paper, Scissors series. A clean young adult urban fantasy that takes you on a fast-paced adventure in an alternate U.S.A.

    great book!

Great book. The voice narration needs a bit of a tweak. But it didn't detract from the book itself. I actually found the voice pleasant enough.
I'm moving in to the next book in the series
