About this listen

New York Times best-selling author Vivian Arend brings you the penultimate book in the Six Pack Ranch series.

The sweetest part of temptation is giving in.

Raphael (Angel) Coleman and Laurel Sitko were thick as thieves throughout their school years. The unlikely friendship between the rancher's son and the preacher's daughter might have gone unnoticed by most, but their shared laughter and connection were the best parts of Rafe's life growing up. Now that she's returned to Rocky, he's eager to move from friend to something far more intimate.

After three years away, Laurel's ready to start over with the gorgeous cowboy who's always owned a piece of her heart. But when her college ex shows up in town, she's got a lot more to deal with than expected, including one suddenly possessive cowboy determined to protect her even as he tutors her through every sexual lesson in the book.

Desire flares hotter and hotter through stolen moments and willing seduction. But when tragedy strikes, Rafe's left on shaky ground, his biggest fear now a reality that could tear them apart and rip forever from their grasp.

Will the connection forged by time be strong enough to see them through to the other side?

Warning: Friends to lovers equals sweet kisses heating to earth-shaking passion, mixed with laughter and tears. Get ready for hellos, farewells and goodbyes, some forever. Because everyone knows the only real secrets in a small town are the ones you're willing to take to the grave.

Good narration

AUDIBLE
Good narration and enjoyable story.
Overly slightly religious tones for me but still enjoyable, with a lot of things happening and secrets being shared and revealed.
Jesse finally admits why he has been acting as he has. Quite eye opening.
Felt sad for Rafe, as once he finally let his dad have both barrels after his saying some truly disgusting things, it’s the night he dies. Nothing to do with what Rafe said. But he will always feel the weight of those last moments.
I just wish Lauren had punched Paul when he wouldn’t back off.
I was kindly gifted this audible book by the author.
BOOK REVIEW
Once again a wonderful read in this series.
Laurel and Rafe have been kindred spirits since kindergarten, getting into trouble but with a fun side.
They go their different ways as young adults when Laurel goes off to do missionary work and bible college but promise to see what is between them when Laurel comes back to town in a few years.
Whilst there is a religious background it is subtle and enjoyable and dies not detract from the story.
I really enjoyed the interaction and support system these two have going on. It gets sorely tested but strengthens as good relationships do.
We get some time with other Colemans and find out why Jesse is being an a**e as well as go in a new direction with a death in the family. Sorry to say it was no upset, probably a relief for everyone.
This is my honest review of this book.

Great read! Loved Rafe and Laurel’s story!

I absolutely loved this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and really held my attention the entire time. I loved getting to see these two come back together and the little glimpses we got at the beginning of them as kids/growing up as best friends and when things started to change. I loved how they supported and took care of each other the entire time while also being able to push in just the right way. Even with things changing from just the best friends and the one night of more before Laurel left for school, they have such a strong foundation due to their friendship that not much rocks them. I love how they handle and deal with each other through the hard times that are popping up around them. This story was a great read and I absolutely adored it! I can't wait for the next one and am definitely hoping that Jesse's story is coming soon.
The narrator did a fantastic job with this one and brought the characters and story to life.

Childhood friends to Lovers

Another great installment in the Coleman Rocky Mountain House world. Narration remains consistently great through the series.

Darling Lamb Chop

Raphael "Rafe" Coleman, an Angel Coleman, and Laurel Sitko have a long history. I love that they were thick as thieves for most of their childhood. I also love how they recognized things had shifted in their relationship but the timing wasn't right. It's tough to do, to set free the person you most treasure as new life experiences (college and such) are calling from the future.

I love that things aren't always easy despite being BFFs for ages and each has some baggage to contend with. The search for an appropriate pet name for Laurel was a fun treasure hunt. It was also cute and occasionally inappropriate. 😆 Gotta love it! ❤️

In other Coleman news, there's loss and a secret is FINALLY revealed. Boy, is it a doozy. Man, they really know how to mess things up, these Coleman men. I mean, go big or go home really seems to be a motto that resonates. Sometimes I laughed, and other times I wanted to reach out and touch someone - Leroy Jethro Gibbs style.

I listened to the audio book. The narrator is Tatiana Sokolov. I continue to enjoy her narration. 🎧🌞🎧

Stunning

Amazing loved Raphael as a character and Laurel was a great addition to the family. You get lots of excitement in this story when her ex shows up but again family is family and they take care of each other. Can’t wait to listen to Jesse’s story.

Enjoyable story!

This is a romance infused with a fair amount of angst, heavy on family dysfunction, personal pain, and eventual acceptance and love. This is Rafe and Laurel's story that began in kindergarten and, with a separation of 3 years of Laurel on a college mission trip, they come back together with the understanding that if they are both single, they'll take their friendship to the next level. I really like the characters who were complex and multi-layered, and the situation with Ben was a heartbreaker. The man they call father is a miserable, angry man who can't control his emotions nor his frequent lashing out at his kids and his wife. There's nothing good that can come out of their toxic relationship. The appearance of Laurel's ex from college is intended to cause a little trouble between her and Rafe, but he serves to make me cringe with his judgmental and attitude of superiority toward everyone but Pastor Dave. When the tragedy that occurs, Rafe suffers a crisis that makes him feel an overload of guilt. Even though it's not his fault, his inner demons in relation to the victim causes him to make some very bad decisions. I had to question his character, but I can't judge. At least he pulled himself together and was there for Laurel. The story was bittersweet, but it worked out as it should. There is a sense of relief that flows through the entire family. There is one plotline that I didn't follow, or at least it felt like it may have been revealed in one of the previous books, is the story of Jesse. My jaw hit the floor and I hope we get his story pronto! Tatiana Sokolov is a wonderful narrator. Her dynamic voice, clear articulation and perfect pace make this story highly enjoyable.
