Publisher's summary

Howard Zinn tells the story of one of the most important organizations of the Civil Rights Movement. SNCC: The New Abolitionists influenced a generation of activists struggling for civil rights and seeking to learn from the successes and failures of those who built the tremendously influential Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. It is considered an indispensable study of the organization, of the 1960s, and of the process of social change. Includes a new introduction by the author.

Death to White Supremacy

The narrator was excellent. The story of youth activists/activism is encouraging. The history of clear police brutality and voter intimidation, the arrests on trumped up charges, the mob attacks, beatings/brutality in prison, clearly shows the systemic racism still passed on today from one generation to the next, and the injustice of white supremacy. White supremacy must be defeated, thanks to all freedom fighters. This book should be discussed in schools throughout the world.

Excellent Look at SNCC

This is the most thorough look into one of the greatest civil rights organizations. The stories, the people, the successes, and challenges included were captivating. I recommend this audiobook for anyone seeking to learn the lessons of the civil rights movement.
