Publisher's summary
Welcome to Morrissey County! This fictional region in Pennsylvania Amish country is home to several generations of strong-willed Amish women who know what they want in life, even if others disagree. Join these women on their search for love and acceptance.
Morrissey County, 1999
Sadie Renno has never liked being Amish. Perhaps she inherited her mother, Sarah’s, desire to leave the Amish. She saw one magazine of American culture when she was young and knew that was the life for her.
Aaron Miller, one of the town's most devout Amish community members, has always had an eye for Sadie Renno. He has spent as much time imagining their wedding as she has spent imagining her life in the city, but Sadie has no desire to be with a man who represents all that she is trying to escape.
Sadie meets someone with a car who is willing to whisk her away, but when Aaron learns that Sadie may leave the community, he does everything in his power to show her that she should stay. Will Aaron be able to lure her away from the city’s lights? Or will Sadie manage to do what her mother couldn’t? Find out in this sweet Amish romance as you become immersed in the lives of these Morrissey County residents.
Sadie is the first book of the Amish of Morrissey County series. Each book is a stand-alone read, but to make the most of the series, you should consider reading them in order.More from the same

The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

As the daughter of a drug dealer, Wavy knows not to trust people, not even her own parents. It's safer to keep her mouth shut and stay out of sight. Struggling to raise her little brother, Donal, eight-year-old Wavy is the only responsible adult around. Obsessed with the constellations, she finds peace in the starry night sky above the fields behind her house until one night her stargazing causes an accident. After witnessing his motorcycle wreck, she forms an unusual friendship with one of her father's thugs, Kellen, a tattooed ex-con with a heart of gold.
