About this listen

Do you ever feel like you’re cursed?

One year after vanquishing the plague vampires and restoring order to Spellcrest Academy, the student body is trying to move forward. A solemn memorial is unveiled to honor those lost in the brutal conflict with the vampires. Yet the scars run deep---literally for the newly turned vampire students struggling with their agonizing transitions.

And everyone’s favorite little elf, Nym, is one of them.

They face escalating tensions from those who believe vampires don't belong at the prestigious academy of magic. Maeve will do whatever she can to help and protect her friends, but troubling Divination readings warn of more turmoil ahead she can't ignore.

Maeve doesn’t want to believe in the Divination arts, but as problems compound, she can’t continue denying her readings. It’s always been a challenge for her to stay out of trouble, and her sapient year proves to be no different.

A new adventure begins with the emotionally charged seventh book of the Spellcrest Academy series.

Maeve was street tough and a bit of a jerk. She and her friends have been transforming into mean girls. They seem arrogant and rude. I guess I like the fantasy concept, the setting, and the world-building, but I don't like the characters very much. This is probably my last book for this series since it looks like the whole next book is mainly a dream. I hate wasting my time on that sort of thing.

The series is declining.
