About this listen

As the Nazis flee Eastern Europe, the Red Army begins its race to conquer Berlin…Krakow, Połand, the site of a Nazi Jewish ghetto and renowned for its medieval architecture, is on the brink of destruction. Polish and Belarussian dual citizen Sergei Bravo vows to save his Motherland from the Nazi regime's destructive forces. Entrusted to serve alongside the Kovpak partisans in Ukraine, Sergei is confronted with his ultimate task.

A story of love and espionage in WW2 Eastern Europe

Sergei longs for home and his earlier life as a teacher. He wants to marry Marta, a young Catholic woman who works at her father's bakery, but his covert missions keep them apart.

This captivating story details an account of valor and heroism intricately interconnected with modern-day hostilities. Set amid a torrent of global conflict, espionage, and deep-rooted cultural tensions, Sergei must prevail in the supreme test of his loyalties, lest Krakow fall.

I saw this book had some good reviews, but I wasn't expecting pro-Stalin and pro-NKVD propaganda. The story in many places reads like a military training manual. As for the good reviews, K.R. Kiehl must have a very large family.
