About this listen
It takes more than good social skills to get what you want from your child's teacher, your hairdresser, mechanic, hotel reservation agent, and more. Encounters that were once simple are now like mini-excursions to a foreign land.
Say the Magic Words is your passport to mastering these daily encounters. You'll find the most effective way to get what you want and need, and know what not to say and do. The insights and information come directly from the pros, people who have spent years in their particular line of work, and their advice is entertaining and unnervingly candid.

No revelations here
Perhaps I am missing something, but I find this book laborious to listen to. I find very little new information about dealing with people here. The basic premise could be one lined - treat people you are dealing with with respect and courtesy and ocassionally ask for a deal (bargain and/or discount). It may be good for someone not street savey or someone who never had to deal with another individual, but come on, give us a break. I personally feel I wasted good time and money on this one. I am half-way through and don't intend to finish - went to far already.
