Publisher's summary

Bradford Seymour, the roguish Lord Greenwich, is renowned for his devil-may-care demeanor and heart seemingly encased in ice. Skye Campbell, the widowed Lady Hampton, on the other hand, is a spirited beauty with a penchant for mischief. These two seemingly opposite souls are destined to collide in an unexpected way.

As the snow blankets the countryside in a picturesque English village, a fortuitous twist of fate traps Bradford and Skye together at the cozy Rosewood Inn for the most enchanting time of the year—Christmas. Forced into close quarters, their differences become glaringly evident, and the sparks that fly are not just from the crackling fireplace.

Amidst the warmth of yuletide celebrations and the magic of a white Christmas, Skye and Bradford discover that beneath the icy façade, there lies a heart yearning for love, and behind the fiery exterior, there's a longing for understanding. Can the spirit of Christmas work its miracles, thawing their hearts and bringing together two souls who are seemingly as different as night and day?

Escape to a wintry world of love, laughter, and unexpected romance in this Regency Christmas tale, where the icy lord and the fiery lady will discover that love knows no season and that beneath the mistletoe, anything is possible.

Love in a Snowstorm

Skye Campbell, a widowed countess, and Bradford Spencer, Marquess Greenwich (and a rogue), are each traveling to be with their families for Christmas when a snow storm strands them at an inn for a few days. There is an instant attraction between them. As they talk a bit and spend time together, their feelings grow. This is a terrific story with lots of fun and little angst, straight to the romance. Skye and Bradford are great, likable and engaging. The inn creates a cheerful festive atmosphere and activities for the stranded travelers. When the storm abates, Bradford and Skye start a new journey to a happy ending. The story is entertaining and the epilogue, a delight. Great narration by Anne Marie Dammon.

Captivating romance

Scandalized by a Rogue's Kiss is a captivating Regency romance that immerses listeners in the snowy, festive setting of an English village during Christmas. Bradford Seymour, the brooding and notoriously aloof Lord Greenwich, is the ultimate rake with a heart of ice. In contrast, Skye Campbell, the widowed Lady Hampton, is full of life, mischief, and charm. When fate traps these two opposites together at the quaint Rosewood Inn during the holidays, their fiery clash soon sparks something far deeper.

Amanda Mariel weaves an enchanting tale of two souls drawn together by circumstance, despite their vast differences. The cozy atmosphere of the inn, the twinkle of Christmas lights, and the magic of the season all come together as the backdrop to their unexpected romance. Bradford's guarded heart slowly begins to thaw, and Skye’s independent spirit finds its match in the very man she thought she would never understand.

The narrative flows with the perfect balance of tension, charm, and heartwarming moments, making it an easy and enjoyable listen. Marian Hussey’s narration adds an extra layer of depth to the characters, skillfully bringing Bradford’s icy reserve and Skye’s lively personality to life. Her ability to evoke emotion and passion through her voice makes the tension between the characters more palpable and the romance all the more satisfying.

As the snow falls and Christmas approaches, Scandalized by a Rogue's Kiss becomes the perfect holiday escape, filled with romance, laughter, and the delightful promise of love amidst the winter chill. It’s a must-listen for fans of Regency romance, especially those who love a holiday tale with sparkling chemistry and the magic of Christmas.

Light, Fun, and Steamy

This is a fun and steamy Regency romp. The novella mostly takes place over the course of just a few days when a band of travelers from different parts of England are stuck snowbound in a wayside inn. The unattached nobleman and noblewoman in the group are instantly attracted to each other, and the book shows how they get to know each other with lots of witty banter, forced-proximity activities, and flirtatious innuendo. This isn't meant to be a serious or rigidly authentic Regency, but if you accept it for what it is, it's a lot of fun. Part of what makes this book, and something that makes quite a few of this author's audiobooks so enjoyable, is the delightful narrator. Her English accent is perfect for Regency romance, and it is clear she is just having fun with the book and characters as well. It's hard not to catch the infectious spirit imbued into the book by both the author and narrator, making it so you just roll with its sometimes over-the-top moments. If you enjoy light and steamy Regency romance, you will probably enjoy the story.

A charming winter romance

Scandalised by the Rogue's Kiss is the fifth book of the Connected by a Kiss series by Amanda Mariel. This is a standalone historical romance, set in Regency era England.

The story follows vivacious, young widow, Lady Skye Campbell, and the roguish Lord Bradford Seymour, the Marquess of Greenwich and heir to his father's dukedom. This is a forced proximity romance, where Skye and Bradford spend time together in a small village inn after a major snowstorm interrupts their respective journeys for the Christmas season.

This is a gentle and charming romance with plenty of romance and a strong dose of instalove, which all cumulates into a happily ever after.

The strong descriptive language of the story makes this a perfect audiobook. Along with a wonderful narrator, Anne Marie Damman, I just felt the whole story come alive. The audio is all up only a few hours, so it's really easy to listen to and enjoy.

Sweet, no-angst romance

I enjoyed this sweet, no-angst romance between a widow and a rogue who meet by chance at an inn during the Christmas season. They thought to be little more than ships passing in the night, playing a brief, flirtatious game, but an unexpected snowstorm traps them both at the inn, giving them the chance to learn more about each other and fall in love. I enjoyed the light-hearted environment. and the banter and repartee of Skye and Bradford. This is a quick, 2-hour listen. It's very sweet, with no drama, angst, or danger...just two people falling in love.

The narrator's voice was clear and easy to listen to.

Scandalized by a Rogue's Kiss!

This is a cute and sweet little romance and new "Connected by a Kiss" story. It's a well written quick read with great characters. I really liked Lady Skye and Bradford, roguish Lord Greenwich! I really liked how this story unfolded from the beginning until the very end. Both, Skye and Bradford, are on their way to spend Chistmastide with family when they meet at the Rosewood Inn. They have a witty start to their acquaintance but both find themselves, as well as the other guest, snowed in. Everyone is trying to make the best of being stranded. The more time they spend with each other, the more feelings develop between them. This is such a lovely story. I thought the narrator did a really good job with the characters and their story.
