If werebears are your thing, then this is for you!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review. There are plenty of werebears here, take your pick. The stories are short, and basically all the same. The relationships were almost carbon copies, and the stories were a continuation of one long plot. The narrator did a good job, but the author could have changed things up a bit and added some more excitement to the stories. It got a little monotonous by the end and I just wanted it to be over.

Interesting series

If you could sum up Scottish Werebear: The Complete Collection in three words, what would they be?

Intrigue, romance, and great characters.

What did you like best about this story?

I like that the intrigue of the alliance continues throughout each book. Each couple gets their HEA, but the thing that brings them together continues.

Did Patrick Blackthorne do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Blackthorne did an okay job, IMO. He did better with the men than the women. Most of the women all sounded the same.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I didn't find any laugh out loud moments or any that brought me to tears. The intrigue and action did get my heart pumping several times.

Any additional comments?

Each story is interesting in its own right and did keep me listening.

Great paranormal stories

This complete collection of short paranormal stories are great. All the stories are interwoven into each other making a good plot and great development of each characters. I would recommend this collection. The narrator was good as well. I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom

Prefect!!

Any additional comments?

This audiobook was given to me for unbiased review. I love paranormal romances, alpha males funny heroines, the best. This collection gives readers the best shifter romances all in one. The Scottish flair added depth, and culture. This collection has action, suspense, romance and steamy scenes. This is a 5 stars. The only thing i would say is that the novellas were too short, other then that perfection.

Nice Story Bad Recording

The story in this collection was interesting but the errors in the recording made listening to it almost painful. Complete sentences would repeat and there would be odd pauses at random spots. Some scenes would shift so abruptly that I couldn't tell if it was the way it was written of if parts were left out. In one of the books the hot main werebear had a voice that reminded me of Mr. Howel on Gilligan's Island and that totally ruined the sex scenes. This collection would be enjoyed more if read than by listening to it.

Enjoyable set of stories

Any additional comments?

3.5 stars

Entertaining and enjoyable set of short novellas all combined into one book.
I had previously listened and reviewed the first 3 books in the series. It was great to dive back into the world of the Scottish Werebear's and hear the rest of their stories.

I enjoyed the rest of the series just as much as I did the first 3 books. The stories all intertwine continuing the overall bigger story that spans the entire series with each book focusing on a couple and their HEA.

Large interesting cast of characters along with a mixture of suspense, intrigue, steamy romance and a bit of action.

Patrick Blackthorne does a good job with the narration. Pleasant voice. Easy to listen to for long periods of time. Good character voices. Even his female voices are good. Nice smooth even pace of narration. Still no sign of any Scottish accent though. A Scottish accent would have added to the overall enjoyment of the stories and characters.

Editing issues? There are several lines throughout the book that are repeated. Book 4, Chapter 12 there are several repeated lines. Book 6, Chapter 13 repeated line. Those are just 2 examples of times where I was able to write down them down.

OMG!!! This is my new favorite series!

It has been a really long time since I have had to listen to or read a series in its entirety in just days. She grabbed me from the first book until the last and I'm wanting more. I am praying that there will be more.

A Great Box set

I got this book via the author. I enjoyed listening to the first three again. The last ones fell in line with the others. Book three was not my favorite. It seemed to fall a little flat. Loved Books one and two. The set tells the complete story. Although they are stand alone books it is better to listen to all of them together to get a full understanding of what the stories are all about. I believe they are worth the credit.

An anthology Worth having

If you could sum up Scottish Werebear: The Complete Collection in three words, what would they be?

Intriguing, swooning, and sometimes surly

What did you like best about this story?

This is actually multiple stories, and each one had its own angle, In how the characters found each other.

What about Patrick Blackthorne’s performance did you like?

He's an excellent narrator, he did a wonderful job acting, with his timing, and his cadence, and I have enjoyed his narrations before this book. But while he occasionally had a slight lilt to his voice (barely noticeable at all) he did not really do any accents. The only reason I point that out is because when a title or setting in any book takes place in a country that is known for heavily accented languages, it is usually expected for the characters to speak with the accent... specifically true when in an audiobook. If this was a series that was taking place in US or even Canada then The narration would have fit perfectly, but since it was not the narration can become a distraction from, rather than adding to the story experience, and frankly the purpose of audiobook is to add to the experience not take away from it. So While it was well preformed, I don't feel it matched this series needs properly.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were a number of swooning moments as it is a complete series.

Any additional comments?

This is a great series and it has a little bit of everything mixed in. I think it was a fun listen, and had a good plot base overal for the books. There were a few moments that felt like insta love but since it is a shifter series that can be explained. My only issue was the lack of Scottish or other accents, though it was well preformed. So if you can get past that than it's worth a listen for sure. I received this audiobook from audiobook boom for free for my unbiased review.

Very good stories

Would you listen to Scottish Werebear: The Complete Collection again? Why?

Yes, they were interesting stories that held your attention.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Matt in A New Beginning because he seemed kind of introverted but yearned to connect to someone.

What does Patrick Blackthorne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think the narrator can change your perspective of events by the way the book is read. I think he did a great job with it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Werebears come out in Scotland!
