About this listen

For artist and free spirit Naomi Logan, sexy radio call-in host Rufus Meade is the wrong man at the wrong time. His conservative views drive her crazy—especially his theories about working women. But after telling him what she thinks—on the air—the last thing she expects is to see him standing on her doorstep… handsome, outspoken and sexier than any man has a right to be.

It seems that opposites not only attract, they ignite! His kisses leave her breathless. And she's awakened feelings in him that he's never felt before. But a failed marriage and the responsibility of raising two young sons alone make Rufus wary of getting too close. Then Naomi uncovers a shocking secret from her own past… a secret that could drive Rufus even further away.

Will their romance lead to heartbreak or happiness for two very different people who are exactly the same… in their desire for love?

This was a good listen. It was a time filler.

Would you try another book from Gwynne Forster and/or Carolyn Smith?

Yes I would. The story was good an the narrator read with good flow. I could picturet story unfold before me.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The growing relationship with her son, Aaron. And the least was Rufus tring to control over Naomi's feelings without putting his on the line.

Did Carolyn Smith do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes she did but she did have Rufus sounding like an old man where Jed the 90 something year old sounded much younger.

Do you think Sealed with a Kiss needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes. Maybe a few years down the road. To show how Naomi handles her work, the twins and to show were things are with Aaron now and if he's more secure in her relatetionship with Naomi. Plus though in other baby or two and of course a little drama for good measure.

Very good

Good story, good listen, the narrator was okay. Listened straight through to the end. Ending was far too abrupt. Would like a follow up book to this story.

Brutally slow

What was most disappointing about Gwynne Forster’s story?

The story moved forward so slowly that it seemed like it wasn't going anywhere at times.
I enjoyed Beyond Desire extremely, but it is hard to believe that the same author wrote this book.
At times it seems like the story has potential, but it is just so horribly slow.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I think there was too much time spent dealing with the inner turmoil of the main characters. The characters were so wrapped up in themselves that it made it impossible for the story to move forward efficiently.

Great

I really like this book. I would recommend this book. It had a great storyline. However I didn't like how Naomi went about telling Rufus about her son. She should have just told him up front there's no shame in what happened to her when she was 16. I wish the book hasn't had given us an epilog on what happened after her and Rufus committed to each other. I really like how Aaron's mother Rosalie got along with Naomi Erin's biological mother.

Sweet

This is an overall good story. I just wish the setting time frame was clearer. One minute I think it's present day then in seems as if its the 60's. But as I said overall is a good overall sweet and delicate love story.

Worth the listen

Although there were parts that seemed to go on too long I really enjoyed this book. I loved the intereaction of the 2 main characters who were both very strong in their beliefs and willing to back up their values.

Long and drawn out

This is my second Gwynne Forster book. My first was ‘Beyond Desire,’ which is now one of my favorite romance novels of all time. It wasn’t perfect, but it was wonderful. I was excited to read another story by Ms. Forster, and I decided on this one.

‘Sealed with a kiss’ is very disappointing. It was one of the flimsiest stories I have ever read/listened to. She built an entire book on an issue that wasn’t really an issue. She built drama where there was no drama. It was ridiculous. Naomi’s angst about revealing her big secret to Rufus was preposterous. I kept saying JUST TELL HIM! It ain’t that big. WTH. There should’ve been some other big reveal just to keep it interesting...but there wasn’t. The reader/listener is told the secret in chapter one. AND NOTHING ELSE OF NOTE HAPPENS. I mean...Really?!? And then, near the end when Rufus takes all the blame and says, “I’ve never given you a reason to trust me,” I really wanted to scream. The ENTIRE book he gave her every reason to trust him. Then it just ended.
The only thing that could make this so so book worse, was the narration by Carolyn Smith. She was awful. Rufus sounded creepy- like a cross between a man and a woman. At times her sudden change in inflection made me jump, and other times they made me cringe.

I will try one more of Ms. Forster’s books. I have my fingers crossed.

You have got to be kidding me!

This woman had a bad situation come upon her when she was a minor. She continued on and made something of herself. She lived under the control of an an old grandfather who was a shovenist who was very controlling. He was her only relative due to parents deaths so she stuck with him in her adult years, respect and all of that. But apparently she was waiting for him to say he loved her. Anyway woman meets man and they don't like one another. He too came off like a bit of a shovenist but everybody has issues. Well this man wanted her and the woman is hot then cold. Cold then hot. He knows she holding back , he's smart and observant. She call him back and you think she gonna tell him what's wrong but no. The author drags it out so bad its like , do you really need an 11 hour book? I was hoping he would leave her alone. I wanted him to kick her butt to the curve in New O.
She got involved in his life with his kids then she keep holding him off and the babies are loving ❤ her. If a man did what she was.doing he would be called a bad guy. Honestly this book could have been done by part 1. Then she has the nerve to get indignant when she knows she is wrong. I couldn't listen to more. I couldn't like her with all the shenanigans. She tried to play the man with a tight dress and almost bit off more than she could chew. Only 1 lover , one time and a dry spell to beat all dry spells...... Really? Then she is in his arms then telling herself they are nothing but telling him to be patient. No No. I'm getting my credit back for this one and I have no interest in another book by this author.

Repetitions

The Author made telling a person about character Naomi's child seem top secret. I felt like the chapters just repeated themselves with slight changes. How many ways can Naomi deni herself love thinking Rufus would not understand. ... Just tell him already jeezzzz. Chapter after chapter Rufus gets mad at her, but then plants a kiss on her & parts her lips, just to walk away. This book feels like like a never ending Ferris wheel ride.
