About this listen

Introducing Geralt the Witcher - revered and hated - who holds the line against the monsters plaguing humanity in the best-selling series that inspired the Witcher video games and a major Netflix show.

Geralt. The witcher whose mission is to protect ordinary people from the monsters created with magic. A mutant who has the task of killing unnatural beings. He uses a magical sign, potions and the pride of every witcher - two swords, steel and silver.

But what would happen if Geralt lost his weapons?

Andrzej Sapkowski returns to his most popular hero in a stand-alone novel where Geralt fights, travels and loves again, Dandelion sings and flies from trouble to trouble, sorcerers are scheming...and across the whole world clouds are gathering - the season of storms is coming....

Sapkowski does it again

Are any series-long questions answered? NO. Do we get a definitive ending? NO. Do we get any details that change the reading of previous parts in the saga? NO. What we do get is some beautiful insights into the world and characters, some of the most exciting of Geralt's adventures, real stakes despite this being a prequel and Sapkowski's unique style and humor at its finest. Great for series veterans AND newcomers who aren't sure whether or not they'll like the saga, but want a taste. The vocal performance is stellar as well.

Includes well develop characters, good twisty story line. very entertaining. The sad bits are balanced by humour, therefore it leaves you with a uplifted mood.

Finally a linear story

3.5

Geralt loses his swords in this one, which seems to enact Murphy's Law for him, so he sets out to get them back, but that isn't as easy as he thought it was going to be.

I know it's an unpopular opinion but this is my favorite Witcher book so far, I think it has a lot to do with it being one story, so it's linear. Would have liked to see more Yennifer and some Ciri

The narration was great in this one, as always

Better than the series

Well, this is better than the five book series, but still all over the place. The author must be really tired of his work by now.
