About this listen

Paige Mattheson is reputed to be as beautiful as the alabaster sculptures she creates - and just as cold. An intensely private person, she is perfectly happy living by herself, until Jesse Dallas walks into her life.

Paige's fierce desire for Jesse both exhilarates and terrifies her. And after spending six glorious weeks with him at her isolated beachfront home, she is a woman passionately in love. But can she trust this loner not to walk out of her life as easily as he has entered it?

Critic reviews

"The deserved popularity of Delinsky's novels resides in her ability to create appealing, believable characters." ( Publishers Weekly)

The voice is too young for this story

The story was difficult to get through because I couldn't stand the voice telling the story

Would be good if...

The description of this book sounded good, but the narrator ruined it. I listened to it maybe 10 minutes and had to shut it off, it was like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Omg

Forget this one. Might have actually been a good story if the narrator didn't sound like a 12 Year old. SO BAD IT WAS UNBEARABLE. Even ruined the book version as I can't hear anything but the baby voice. Creepy as it sounded so much like a kid.

Terrible narrator

I'm sure this would be a great book, if it was read and not heard. The narrator sounds like a 6 year old child. After two or three paragraphs I just could not listen any more. The narration simply doesn't match the characters in any way.

HORRIBLE Narrator

After the first few words of this story, I almost stopped listening. I HATE the nasal, whiney, little girl voice of this reader. I hope Ms. Delinsky - and all of the other authors I like - NEVER use this reader again. IF you can get past the voice, the story is pretty good.
