About this listen

Motherhood is a journey of profound highs and challenging lows, where moments of defeat and elation can occur within the span of an hour. Seen in the Unseen, a four-week devotional inspired by the Psalms, offers solace and wisdom tailored for mothers. Each devotion features a Psalm, reflections on its relevance to motherhood, and guided prayers to ground listeners in God's presence amidst daily chaos.

The Psalms, often described as songs of the heart, provide strength and connection while navigating the demands of raising young children. Designed for busy schedules, Seen in the Unseen offers moments of respite and reflection whenever needed.

Using five elements of prayer—address, describe, confess, request, and praise—listeners are encouraged to craft their own prayers inspired by the Psalms while growing in awareness of God's abiding presence amidst the mundane and the monumental, the joys and the refining work of motherhood.

I wish this book was around when I was just starting the journey of motherhood! Now, as a mom of a young kid, I am soaking up Bekah's wisdom and words like a fresh drink of water. Any new mom will tell you, it’s an incredibly meaningful, exhausting, priceless gift and sometimes deeply lonely endeavor to be a new parent. This kind of a devotional fills a need - and comes from a person whose wisdom, candor, and perspective I value. THIS IS A MUST READ FOR ALL NEW MOMs! (And, bonus, the audio version is done by Rebekah herself, so you get to experience her voice and present like you're sitting with a friend.

I feel like this book came along exactly when I needed it. I was trying to find Christian wisdom and encouragement after having my first baby. I was not prepared for the hormones and very strong emotions/moods I would experience during the fourth trimester.
I loved having a devotional that helped me remember the true character of God so I could see the lies Satan was trying to get me to believe about myself as a mom.
It was also really refreshing to hear how transparent the author was about her own struggles. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in what I was feeling.
Most other books I found regarding motherhood or postpartum seemed to be written by moms much farther into their motherhood journey than I was, so it was perfect that this book targets early Mamahood problems haha :)
This is definitely going to become part of any baby shower gift I give!

This is perfect for any mama still stuck in the trenches of postpartum or learning to parent a toddler!

I’m so thankful for special friends like Bekah - her words are so honest and encouraging. If you’re in the thick of parenting and feeling weary, I highly recommend taking a few minutes a day to read/listen to this devotional.

Seen in the Unseen by Bekah Buchterkirchen is a deeply resonating devotional As a mother, it often feels like our days are consumed by constant caregiving, leaving little time to connect with God. This four-week journey through the Psalms provided me with a beautiful reminder that God sees us in those unseen moments of motherhood.
Bekah's writing is vulnerable, relatable, and filled with wisdom. Each day's devotion starts with a reflection that feels like a conversation with a friend who truly understands the season we're in. The breath prayers in particular have become a new practice in my spiritual journey, helping me reconnect with God in the moment even on the most chaotic days. I found the weekly reviews particularly helpful - as I can't seem to remember what I read two days ago!
I especially loved how Bekah wove in relatable stories and struggles that many of us face, like the exhaustion, isolation, and the moments of immense joy. Her words reminded me that our seemingly small acts of care are sacred and holy. The flexible format of this devotional's structure was perfect for me, the daily devotions can be read easily and the time of reflection and prayer could also extend to fill the time (when I had it).
If you're a mama looking to deepen your spiritual life and feel God's presence in your everyday chaos, I highly recommend this book. It’s a beautiful, encouraging companion that I will be returning to time and time again.

Deeply Resonating

Many devotionals for moms seem out of touch or even performative when it comes to the wisdom and spiritual elements. Others seem to trend negative and focus on being a martyr mom. This one meets you in the day to day struggle and pulls you up. The daily reads are short and digestible but full of wisdom and application that feels doable. As a mom of 4 I have read my share of blogs and books for moms and this is one I feel I will return to and recommend often. I especially loved the prayers. Spiritual discipline isn’t something that comes naturally for me, but this devotional gives a great template from which to build. I also find her voice and tone to be so encouraging and calming.
