A practical guide to Self-Compassion
This book is filled with practical guidance and examples of how to be more self-compassionate to ourselves. Some times we don't even realize that we need to show ourselves more self-love. Ms. Brim points out the need for us to forgive ourselve and also forgive others to help us grow. She emphasizes learning to nurture and accept ourselves so that we can be more loving to others as well. If our families are not accepting of us, we can build intentional relationships with friends who we can rely upon.
The importance of embracing a growth mindset where we learn from challenges, learning to be assertive, and using the practice of mindfulness are all ways to help us grow in self-love. A great book to keep for reference.

didn't realize how badly I needed this!
I have to admit I was rolling my eyes a little bit when I first saw this. I feel kind of silly picking up this kind of title. But wow - was I ever blown away. I didn't realize how badly I needed this! I have always struggled with self-worth and insecurity. I love how this book discusses negative self-talk and how to rid yourself of it. I have started incorporating positive self-talk in my daily routine and I can't believe what a difference it makes. The book encourages you to talk to yourself the way you would a close friend. I appreciate the focus on routines and daily self-love meditations. Self-care is easy to push to the side when you're busy, so including it in part of your daily routine just makes sense. I also appreciated the section on vulnerability, as I really hadn't thought of that perspective in self-love. I highly recommend this book!!

This audiobook changed me!
Self-love was not ever spoken of when I was growing up! To discover the ability to notice the self-talk that is damaging and to be able to have the information shared in this audiobook to actually overcome this, is more than amazing! She provides examples and ways to overcome this as well as the ability to set boundaries and gain confidence in doing this, something I had not been able to do. This audiobook has examples and ways to help navigate this that is so very needful! This audiobook provides not just confidence, but to change the mindset to except the worthiness we deserve to know and feel! Absolutely priceless! I am so grateful for the motivation that Lauren Brim gave to create an audiobook that can not only change a mindset but to change a persons life. Healing can take place in this process. There is SO much information shared in this audiobook! To feel that kind of confidence is a gift more than words could ever say, thank you so so much!

Learning to love myself
I have always been so hard on myself and wanted to fix that. I found this audiobook and am so thankful. This book is well written and super easy to follow. I have found several strategies to improve my relationship with myself. I now do daily things to help me be a better me.

To love ourselves is the most difficult
I enjoyed listening to this book about self-love and self -compassion. This area truly requires mindful exercises as described in this book. Negative self-talk is usually just on a loop through your mind and it requires effort to prioritize self-care. This book discusses how to discover self-love in many ways. Some are daily practices that can become good habits, some are mindfulness exercises that need to resurface every time loneliness, isolation and self-doubt take over. Sometimes we just need to unpack the myth that perfection exists and learn how to accept ourselves wherever we are. The exercises in this book can help us to be vulnerable and resilient and heal long-term emotional wounds. We all have them. We all need this book!

Love Yourself
I love all the parts about being compassionate and loving to yourself. The book teaches self love is necessary to live an happy life. At the end of each chapter there are helpful exercises and short stories that go great with the content of that chapter. This motivated me to create a loving space to take time for myself. Positive, motivational and empowering.

Pragmatic knowledge around self-betterment
Lauren Brim, PhD has laid out the imperative elements of creating self-worth, self-value, and general confidence in life by approaching the topic not from the kind of self-help tropes that we are used to but from a place of in-depth and pragmatic knowledge around self-betterment that shines with an aura of authenticity and empiricism. My favorite thing about this title is the push to unwind past hurts and traumas; ergo, one develops self-worth; ergo, one develops a healthy intolerance for toxicity in relationships and from peers in general.
