About this listen

These hardened killers opened up to her in a way that they would never do to psychiatrists, prosecutors and other authority figures...revealing terrifying chapters of their lives that might otherwise have stayed hidden forever.

In this chilling audiobook, you will meet Wayne Adam Ford, who walked into a California police station in 1998 with a severed woman's breast in his pocket; Bobby Joe Long, who assaulted and murdered at least ten women; Gary Ray Bowles, killer of six; truck driver Keith Hunter Jespersen, who travelled from state leaving a trail of bodies in his wake; and Robin Gecht, one of the members of the terrifying Ripper Crew.

Redstall has spoken about her experiences on programmes like The Montel Williams Show, in documentaries and in the national press. In this, her first audiobook, she shares every detail and insight, bringing the listener up close and very personal with some of the most dangerous and disturbed serial killers that the world has ever seen.

This book was interesting. It told the stories of a couple serial killers that I have not heard of before. However, it seemed a little disjointed towards the end. The reader also had a very thick accent, which made it kind of hard to understand sometimes. He also mispronounced a few words. But overall, I liked it.

Not bad…

Would you try another book from Victoria Redstall and/or Drew Campbell?

This book is boring. I actually stopped listening when it got to the trial. I will. Finish but only when I have nothing to listen to. The book drags on, it sets scenery more than anything in my opinion. Maybe the last half will be better.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I think I will purchase Gacy, the last victim was a good book to.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

no redeeming qualities I can think of, I tried liking the book but the more I listened the more I knew this book was not holding my interest.

Don't waste your credit

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend to a friend, but I would advise to be ready for multiple mispronunciations and a heavily biased voice.

What do you think your next listen will be?

My next listen will most likely be Most Bizarre Murders.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Drew Campbell?

Anyone else, the narrator did not do his research and made the book hard to listen to due to many mispronunciations of common words in the justice system and city names.

Do you think Serial Killers needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, I would not want to listen to another account by Victoria Redstall about serial killers. She repeatedly states that she is embarrassed to be known to the serial killers she writes about, which can only lead to a biased account.

Informative, but hard to listen to

The author bring too much of her own story and self-centeredness for my taste. The narrator mispronounces so many words it is distracting. The topic is great but I could barely finish it.

Too much about author

I applaud her for the courage to interview these sociopaths. It was well written. These killers are Dr Jekyll & Hyde characters in every sense.

Can make you a little squeamish at times

I so hard to even get through this book.

I says. I can't tell if this author doesn't know how to write proper English, but the context and views of the author are the worst of all, completely closed minded, right wing, pro death penalty. The narrator is almost taking the piss, reading everything incorrectly on purpose, I assume he is Scottish and it's not his accent because he definitely knows and would normally pronounce such simple words. the author is clearly only writing to show you her own opinion, of these sick individuals, whom are obviously very mentally ill. But hey America don't care about anything except turning everything in to some form of spectacle, and then using that to initiate fear and hate amongst all.

This could have been a much deeper and more thought out read, narrated well.

'Badly 'ritten?' or poorly read..

I actually read this same story by a different author a few years ago and it was much better put together. Though the facts are the facts I guess it's just the way the facts are laid out.

Just ok
