This story pissed me off chapter by chapter. It was the most frustrating read that I couldn’t put down. I recommend it but only if you’re able to deal with disappointment before any gratitude.

But my honest thoughts for the ending; Who shoots with their eyes closed?! I just can’t. At this point she didn’t want him to ever deploy again because ain’t no way you know how to carry and shoot a weapon then in the moment it count you shoot with your damn eyes closed.

Earth Shattering!

I’m a sucker for reunion romances, especially childhood friends reuniting and falling in love. *swoon* the added spice of the mmc staying friends through the mfc’s marriage and becoming a widow and waiting through her grieving process just adds the chocolate fudge and cherry on top for me. The smut was pretty good but could’ve been better for how voracious the mfc is described to be. But overall a decent steamy romance.

I’ll probably be in the minority but I didn’t care for this book. I wasn’t invested in the characters like I was with Crazy Good. I loved the spunky Morganna and the funny Steve but I didn’t connect with them like I did Maverick and Windsor.

As much as I loved Stone and was truly sad of his passing in Crazy Good I could have done without all the intimate flashbacks of Morganna and Stone. I realize Stone is a part of Morganna but this was supposed to be about her and Steven. I did enjoy the flashbacks of Steve and Morganna as it explained their deep connection.Don’t get me wrong there were some great emotional moments toward the end that got me in the feels but not enough to sway me

The narration was good and fit with the characters. It was an enjoyable listen but the story was just good not crazy good.
