Virtual Voice should not cost something

I listened to the sample before purchasing the book, and the virtual voice sounded okay, but when I started listening to the book as a whole, it was substantially inferior to a regular narrator. I am disappointed that Audible only has this available for purchase by money or credit - if it was available as part of Audible's subscription library, then maybe that would be understandable. But even at $6, it's not worth the price.

Problems with the virtual voice include:
- Reading footnote numbers interrupts the flow of the narration.
- Lack of enthusiasm and emphasis on what a human narrator would emphasize makes the whole thing seem rather plain and flat.
- Simple weird things like saying "underscore" instead of "blank" or reading out an entire URL where a human would've only read the crucial parts were jarring.

I listen to things read by computer voices all the time - usually with PDFs on Edge - so I'm used to things being a little weird. But that is free. The virtual voice that was used for this audiobook did not deserve the cost.

As for the content of the book itself, I think that it was good - at least the parts I listened to. The author continually goes back to Scripture, which I very much appreciate - it's not a "self help" book with a shallow basis. I didn't get very far in, because of the voice - maybe an hour or so. However, the book is definitely more of a workbook, so formatting it for an audiobook requires extra care than a normal book, and that wasn't done in this case.
