Romantic Suspense at it's Best!
I wasn't sure what to expect from this author having never read her, but this was a very nice surprise. It was just the right blend of romance and suspense. The narrator did a great job distinguishing the characters, so I wasn't trying to figure out who said what. Highly recommend this book. I'm listening to the 3rd book in this series now and so far it hasn't disappointed me.

Stale plot - silly dialog
"I'm a hot sh8t, but...", oh c'mon, no one talks like these two! The 'oh woe is me cuz I'm female in a male dominated field' attitude is tiresome - I don't think I can finish this book. I experienced some of what the author conveys in a prejudiced, male dominated field 25 years ago - this heavy-handed writing might have passed at that time. The female lead in this story wears such a chip on her shoulder that I am in awe that she can stand up and walk around. This is likely an example of a writer attempting to cover an environment he/she knows nothing about.
Even so, if the plot had been more interesting or the serial killer's modus operandi more original, then I might be able to finish this - I have suffered through more than half of the book and just HATE to waste my credit by not finishing.... but it is not looking like I will ever hear the ending (or care).
