About this listen
Acts 5:15 tells us, “People brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as they passed by.” Peter couldn’t see it, but while he was walking—face forward, eyes on Jesus—the power of God was breaking loose behind him. The sick were being healed by the simple touch of his shadow as he passed.
Jamie Buckingham calls this “shadow ministry.” In this teaching he tells stories of how, unbeknownst to him at the time, his own shadow has fallen on people and changed lives literally around the world—simply because he was doing what God had called him to do.
Be encouraged! You have a shadow ministry too. You just may not know it yet.
“Maybe the most significant things we do are the things whose impact we don’t know about,” Jamie states. “Unbeknownst to you, your shadow is falling on untold numbers of other people. The kingdom of God does not rest on the shoulders of giants. It is carried on the shoulders of ordinary people empowered by an extraordinary God.”
