About this listen

After publicly declaring war on the queen, Kenna finds herself in a race against time as she fights to free the shifters from the grip of madness and works to find and train an army equipped to take on the ruthless ruler.

More innocent victims are taken as the atrocities of the war between races continue, and Kenna’s desire to protect her people drives her to reckless behavior, dragging her chosen with her. The closer she gets to taking the throne, the more she sees the devastating toll that being the princess has on those she loves, leaving her questioning whether loving her is truly worth the cost.

With each passing day, the queen’s men close in, relentless in their pursuit, and when the unthinkable happens, the rebellion is left picking up the shattered pieces of what remains. Will they be able to survive the blow, or will the movement crumble, unable to keep the spark of hope alive? Find out in this thrilling conclusion of the Magic Bound series.

Shadows and Lies is a reverse-harem novel where the heroine doesn’t have to choose just one mate.

Perfect ending

The main female character ended up with 6 men so it was getting pretty spicy in this book. Narration was great. Really good story too.

Good to the last drop!

Actually the Magic Bound series far exceeded the word good. Willow Hayes created a masterpiece! The characters were well thought out, developed, and created to endear them to you for a lifetime. Kenna’s story was wrought with danger and tragedy yet intermingled with a pervasive hope in a better future where all men and women, no matter their differences, could co-exist in peace and with mutual respect.

Could have been better…

I loved the first 2 books but found myself skipping through a lot of this book. For all Kenna claims to be strong and a fighter she spends so much time whining and being weak. Also the female narrator could have been better. Her “male” voice is so robotic.

Frustrated

Loved the first 2 books. The last book kept my attention and was worth the listen however it really made me love Kenna much less. Every person on her side does nothing to cause her to doubt their love for her and yet she doubts them and herself over and over. I found her goodness believable but her faith in everyone else maddening. The sex parts were interesting but similar each time and I appreciated the love in those situations. Kenna could have been so much more but left me frustrated because her character only shows flashes of greatness and doesn’t quite balance all the weakness shown early. I’d gladly read book 4 just to get rid of the frustration I feel now that characters I enjoyed didn’t quite get to the point to finish the arc books one and two set up.

Amazing!!

This was an amazing series. The way the narrator’s brought the story to life was truly amazing. Each character with their own personality and quirks made you want to know more about them. Made you root for each of them and fall in love with them all just as the main character did. Can’t wait to read more from this author they all did a wonderful job!!

Great book!

I feel like the narrator could have been better with the male characters, he is very monotone but overall it’s a great book.

Enjoyed This Series

I am honestly sad to have reached the end of this series. I absolutely enjoyed it. The story was the perfect mixture of character growth, story development, action and adventure, and the right amount of sexy scenes. Wasn't sure at first, but I am so glad that I followed this story to the end. Definitely worth the time.
