Publisher's summary
Someone is killing the people of London, leaving behind bodies drained of blood and bite marks upon their necks.
Faced with the possibility of a vampire attack in London, Sherlock Holmes is called upon by Scotland Yard to uncover the identity of the killer. Once on the case, it doesn’t take long for the detective to follow a trail leading to a bar along St. Katherine Docks. Soon after, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson stumble upon an improbable ring of immortal spies, into which they are promptly recruited.
It is a cat and mouse game, with Sherlock and Watson as the bait. But with London's most famous detective on the case, it's not a matter of if the killer will be caught—but when.
Sherlock Holmes and the Vampire's Kiss is the fourth book in The Watson Files series. Join the Great Detective and Dr. Watson in an all-new adventure certain to delight Sherlock fans everywhere.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Ranulf Briquessart, Viscount Briquessart of Rutledge, was dead. This truth was as undeniable as the noonday sun. Tragically his death had been preceded by that of his wife, a beauty of Spanish nobility who was descended from the ancient Counts of Castile. These deaths were sadly followed by that of their only son, even before the honors and titles could be bestowed. Now there was a card upon the table at 221B Baker Street from Lady Magdalena, the last surviving child of Sir Ranulf. Malcolm Findley was a strange little man with a large, pale, half-bald dome of a bulbous head, a trailing mane of silver-white hair, and a pair of Belgian-made golden pince-nez eyeglasses. He was also brilliant and this aspect of his personality so overshadowed the former that he was considered a colossus. Born the eldest son of a poor fisherman on the Isle of Lewis in the windswept northwest of Scotland, he grew up in a stone cottage with a thatched roof that didn’t blow away in the frequent gales only because it was held down by a net of hemp ropes weighted at the ends by stones. A weathered Cornish sailor has come to 221B Baker Street to see Sherlock Holmes. He shares a tale so haunting and otherworldly that it seems to offer only one possible explanation, a supernatural one. William Berryman of the coal ship Mariah went to sea as a boy and is now an old man, but in all his years he has never experienced anything like he did in The Great Storm of ’99 off the Cornish Coast. The storm drove his ship into the deadly “Manacles”, a line of savage rock outcroppings that had already claimed over a thousand souls. He tells Holmes and Watson that only nine of nineteen...

Twice he has been almost run down in the street by the same mysterious carriage, and moreover, disturbing alterations have been made to his lecture slides. These are closely guarded, yet just before each lecture an unknown hand has defaced images depicting Muybridge himself, which he has discovered, to his horror, only as he projects them to his audience.

Sherlock Holmes’s discovery of a mysterious musical score initiates a devious Christmas challenge set by Irene Adler, with clues that are all variations on the theme of “theft without theft”, such as a statue missing from a museum found hidden in the room it was taken from. In the snowy London lead-up to Christmas, Holmes’s preoccupation with the “Adler Variations” risks him neglecting the case of his new client, Norwegian arctic explorer Fridtjof Nansen, who has received a series of threats in the form of animal carcasses left on his doorstep.

Story
It’s the autumn of 1890, and a spate of bombings has hit London. The newspapers are full of fevered speculation about anarchists, antimonarchists and Fenians. But one man suspects an even more sinister hand behind the violence. Sherlock Holmes believes Professor Moriarty is orchestrating a nationwide campaign of terror, but to what end? At the same time, a bizarrely garbed figure has been spotted on the rooftops and in the grimy back alleys of the capital.

Free Book and Worth No More
I did not enjoy virtual voice. Holmes and Watson sound the same and had no English accent.
The story lacked period and used contemporary language. The story was not paced and did not flow. Were the book not free I’d return it.
I wouldn’t waste a credit on a virtual voice narration. It just lack’s humanity.

Good story bad virtual voice
I enjoyed the story but when I listen to Sherlock Holmes stories I love to hear the English accent. The virtual voice took away from my experience and enjoyment.
