About this listen

Bay Ann wants to shine.

She's sure her moment in the spotlight has arrived when she wins the school talent show with a showstopping tap routine! But then her classmate and crush, Alyee Maq, causes her to wobble and almost fall. The video of him catching her goes viral, making Alyee an overnight sensation for "helping her." Bay Ann is reduced to her disability and her talent is ignored.

Bay Ann doesn't want her classmate to get all the fame, and she is NOT satisfied being anything but the best. She'll do everything in her power to beat Alyee at his own attention-seeking game. With the help of her two best friends, Michelle and Davey Matt, she'll go up against Alyee and his crew to prove she's number one.

But as Bay Ann tries to find the thing that really makes her stand out, everything she tries goes disastrously wrong. What if the only way to beat her enemy . . . is to join him?

This is a hilarious and one-of-a-kind audiobook about fame, friendship, and fighting to take back your own story.

Witty, heartwarming and very entertaining!

This book captivates both the young and adults alike! My daughter couldn't put it down, and now I understand why. It's witty, heartwarming, and incredibly entertaining. Bay Ann's enthusiasm and insecurities are endearing, and Maysoon's narration brings the story to life. Dave Mathews as her cat is the icing on the cake! Don't miss out on this gem! —L

HILARIOUS AND HEARTFELT + the Dave Mathews

This is a book you DO NOT WANT TO MISS. An incredible and adorable story about one girl’s impressive drive and determination to make her dreams come true, and that success is never worth hurting the people you care about.

Bay Ann is a refreshing and beautifully honest protagonist who refuses to be reduced to her disability or other people’s assumptions of her. She stands up herself and fights to take back her story, and like any middle grade kid would she makes plenty of mistakes along the way and learns all the valuable lessons that go with it.

This book will fill your hearts and expand your world. Plus, thanks to having a veteran comedian Maysoon Zayid as the author, you will be laughing out loud from beginning to end.

Did I mention the colors and illustrations are gorgeous? My fellow neurodivergent friends, these colors will calm and tickle your brain!
