We had a subscription to Shoofly in its original incarnation (1990's) when it was a husband and wife company sending out cassette tapes. It was a unique idea, well executed, and was perfect for the intended audience. Our two sons loved Shoofly tapes.
I've always wanted to put our cassettes onto CDs for my first-grade-teacher sister to use in her class. Fast forward: I found these at Amazon and was perfectly willing to rebuy them to save the recording trouble. However, downloaded from audible, the Shoofly recording has been sliced into consistent length bands on the CD; the individual selection breaks have been lost and aren't selectable on my CD player. This is probably fine for a recorded book, and might work just fine for you, but you're in a pickle if your kid wants you to "play that one again." Fortunately, you can google around and find the Shoofly recordings handled as a conventional audio CD, one track per selection.

Wonderful content; failed execution.
