About this listen

Dorothy Stratten was killed by her jealous husband soon after appearing on Johnny Carson. Paul had met her in Canada and became her manager. After being rebuffed by the often abusive (but not to her) Hugh Hefner (see documentary about Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, and others) he killed her after inviting her one last time to his apartment. His weapon of choice was a shotgun, then he killed himself. I sent director Peter Bogdanovich, who was dating her at the time, a copy of her note and signed photograph, and he responded with a thank-you letter.
