About this listen

Silencing the Laughter of Goliath are poems written by Doreen regarding handling criticism. There are certain circumstances that a person have no control of, for example we don’t choose who are mothers and fathers must be, we don’t choose what race we must be and we don’t choose our appearance. Women who fornicate as young girls then reject the children they bear as a result of such an act. The child cannot be humiliated for such an act. To this I wrote poems “Forbidden to talk, a mystery to unfold, she loved her not’. The title is referring to how some people mock and belittle others. In the case of David, he silenced Goliath who belittled him by killing him which is what is done in war. In day to day life we also have to silence our enemies but not by killing. We silence them by not responding to their criticism, not succumbing to their influence. Remembering that “our battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers and rulers of darkness”. Not claiming to be a super human, when I meet a homeless person I great him or her. I bear in mind that a dirty person, who has not have a bath for months or years has a soul that Lord Jesus Christ died for. Some of the poems are about children rejected by their parents. I wrote these based on my personal experience of being rejected by my mother and father. There is nothing that I did that my mother ever approved, even during the time that I was invited to a local Radio station to speak on xenophobia. I accepted that I will never do anything good before her eyes. So in this case I know there are Arms opened wide of my Maker always ready to embrace. Are you excited of your achievements, run to your Maker in thanks giving. Is your soul downcast, run to your Maker for solace. Are you in doubt, turn to Lord Jesus Christ for true peace and direction and some dosage of faith. Are you rejected, well there is plenty of unconditional love from our heavenly Father just go to Him now. Are you sad, well “the joy of the Lord is your strength” Are you in distress, lost a loved one, turn to the Lord He knows exactly how to comfort your heart. Is your soul pierced with hurting words, go to the Great Physician, Lord Jesus Christ. Christianity Church & Church Leadership Ministry & Evangelism Poetry
